Florida’s state legislative session just came to a close.
Democrats and their pals in the corporate-controlled media are outraged over a number of laws passed by the Republican-led Legislature.
And Ron DeSantis delivered five words of advice to his critics that the Left needs to hear.
On Monday, after approving the largest budget in state history, the Florida State Legislature wrapped up its 2022 regular session.
“I’m really proud to see a lot of the stuff that came across the finish line,” DeSantis said at a news conference after the legislature adjourned.
Driven by Ron DeSantis’ leadership, the Republican-led House and Senate passed a number of new laws that sent Democrats off the rails.
One of the new laws passed prohibits abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy.
Right now, women in Florida are allowed to get an abortion up to 24 weeks into pregnancy.
But under the new law, abortions after 15 weeks are outlawed in Florida unless it is аbsolutely necessаry to sаve the mother’s life or prevent serious injury, or if the unborn baby hаs а fаtаl аbnormаlity.
The legislature also passed a law designed to strengthen election integrity in Florida by creating a new office in the Department of State with the sole task of investigating voter irregularities.
The legislation also increases penalties for ballot-harvesting and other election schemes that are now illegal under Florida law.
With Joe Biden’s border crisis worsening by the day, Republicans passed legislation prohibiting “sanctuary cities” in Florida and requiring local governments to cooperate with Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) agents.
But one of the most controversial legislation passed had to do with educational reform.
DeSantis took on the woke cancel culture crowd by banning the teaching of Marxist-based Critical Race Theory in Florida’s classrooms, while also giving parents the right to sue schools that violated his order by teaching Critical Race Theory to children.
“This really was the year of the parent in the state of Florida,” DeSantis said during a press conference in Tallahassee.
“We in Florida showed a commitment to education, not to indoctrination, and I want to thank the Florida legislature for doing that,” DeSantis continued.
DeSantis then blasted the Left for attacking Republicans in Florida for passing a bill that simply prohibits teaching sexual orientation and gender identity to children in kindergarten through third grade.
After the Left misnamed the legislation the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, Democrats, members of the Fake News Media, and woke corporate leaders, like Disney’s CEO, attacked DeSantis and tried to strongarm him into opposing it.
But DeSantis refused to bow to the radical Left and go along with their phony narrative about the legislation, which doesn’t even mention the word “gay” in the text.
“As the parent of three kids that are aged 5 and under, thank you for letting me and my wife be able to send our kids to kindergarten without them being sexualized,” DeSantis said.
DeSantis also dispelled the phony narrative that businesses would avoid Florida because of the legislation.
“People actually said that if you don’t have classroom instruction on sexual matters in grades K through 3 that somehow businesses don’t want to be in Florida,” DeSantis said.
“I think people need to get out of their bubble and actually talk to parents in this state, because they do not want this in kindergarten or first grade or second grade,” DeSantis continued.
“We want our kids to be kids,” he concluded.
