Ron DeSantis is among the many Americans furious with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
But Bragg has his own defenders on the Left.
And Ron DeSantis flattened Al Sharpton with a devastating truth about Alvin Bragg.
Ron DeSantis slammed Alvin Bragg for filing second degree manslaughter charges against Marine veteran Daniel Penny in the death of mentally ill homeless man Jordan Neely.
Neely died after Penny restrained Neely because Neely threatened other passengers on the subway, including claiming he was ready to kill someone.
DeSantis defended Penny as a “good Samaritan” and blasted Bragg for prosecuting him.
“I think to be able to step in as a good Samaritan and protect people — I think that that’s something that was the right thing to do. And I don’t think he should be prosecuted,” DeSantis stated.
Race-baiting leftist Reverend Al Sharpton spoke at Neely’s funeral and spread multiple lies about Ron DeSantis including debunked falsehoods about banning books and removing black history from Florida schools.
Sharpton – who claims to be Reverend but doesn’t seem to follow many of the teachings of Christ as he supports abortion-on-demand – then claimed he needed to give DeSantis a Bible so the Governor could re-read the story of the good Samaritan.
“I know, Governor DeSantis, that you’re putting black history and LGBTQ and Latino out of the school, but I have a Bible to put in the Governor’s office,” Sharpton declared. “Because apparently, you don’t know what the Good Samaritan was. Jesus told the parable of the Good Samaritan.”
DeSantis spokesman Bryan Griffin fired back, slamming Sharpton for trying to exploit a funeral to divide Americans and gain political advantage.
“Democrats never miss an opportunity to take a political jab and try to further divide our country — even at a funeral,” Griffin stated. “Save your breath, Rev. Sharpton. These attacks simply don’t work on Governor DeSantis. He is not afraid to speak the truth.”
Many on the Left are trying to turn Neely’s death into another George Floyd situation.
During the funeral, Sharpton again pushed the falsehood that Neely’s death resulted from racial resentment because Penny was white and Neely is black.
But DeSantis set the tone for his Presidential campaign by refusing to back down to the Left’s racially-motivated smear campaign.
