After a bullet grazed Donald Trump’s ear in Butler, Pennsylvania, he stood up, raised his fist, and shouted “Fight.”
Many believe Trump won the election that day.
And now Ron DeSantis just gave Donald Trump a gold coin that said what every American was thinking.
The Moment That Stopped Everyone on the Tarmac
DeSantis met Trump on the Fort Myers airport tarmac Friday, moments after Air Force One touched down.
No handshakes and pleasantries.

The governor walked up and handed the president a custom gold challenge coin – featuring Trump raising his middle finger toward the men who twice tried to kill him.
“I told them, I said, ‘I need to get this to the president. Can I please have one to give to him? And so I was able to do it,'” DeSantis told reporters.
The moment encapsulates everything the left cannot stand about this president – he survived two assassination attempts, won the White House, and now he’s laughing about it on a gold coin.
They Came for Him Twice and Got Nothing
The first attempt came July 13, 2024, in Butler, Pennsylvania – a 20-year-old gunman opened fire from a rooftop and grazed the president’s right ear.
Trump rose from behind the podium with blood on his face, threw his fist in the air, and mouthed “Fight” to the crowd.
The image became one of the most iconic photographs in American political history.
The second attempt came September 2024 at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach – a would-be sniper was caught lying in the bushes by the Secret Service before he could fire a shot.
Two attempts.
Zero results.
And now there’s a gold coin commemorating the failure.
DeSantis Just Paid a Two-Year Debt
The governor explained a friend of his makes the coins – and the moment he saw it, he knew the president had to have one.
The timing matters – DeSantis has spent much of Trump’s second term working to repair a relationship that fractured during the brutal 2024 Republican primary.
He renamed West Palm Beach’s airport after Trump.
He built “Alligator Alcatraz” – a detention facility carved out of Florida swampland – and handed it to the Trump administration to fill with illegal migrants.
He pushed aggressive congressional redistricting maps ahead of these midterms.
DeSantis then endorsed Byron Donalds for governor in September – the Trump-backed candidate, not his own wife Casey – the clearest signal yet that the reconciliation was complete.
Trump Used the Energy at the Rally
The coin clearly worked.
Trump delivered one of his most animated midterm rallies, stumping for Donalds – running for Florida governor – and incumbent Sen. Ashley Moody against Democrat Angie Nixon, whom Trump labeled “a card-carrying member of the Democrat Socialists of America.”
He ran through Nixon’s party platform – abolishing the Senate, abolishing the Supreme Court, defunding police, closing all prisons, releasing violent criminals.
“Why can’t I have a candidate like that to run against?” he joked.
Trump also renewed his demand that Rep. Ilhan Omar resign immediately from Congress.
And when someone raised the lawsuits trying to slow down his White House renovation projects, he was characteristically succinct: “I don’t give a s–t about it.”
What the press corps reduced to a funny coin story is actually the most important Republican development in Florida this cycle.
The two most powerful figures in the state – men who spent a year tearing each other apart on the primary trail – are now a unified operation eleven days before a midterm election that will determine control of Congress.
DeSantis brings the state infrastructure, the redistricting maps, and the institutional muscle.

Trump brings the rallies, the endorsements, and forty-five minutes of fire that left Fort Myers shaking Friday night.
Democrats running in Florida in 2026 aren’t just running against Byron Donalds or Ashley Moody.
They’re running against both of them at full strength, pointing in the same direction, for the first time.
The gold coin is not a joke.
It’s a victory lap.
