It’s readily apparent that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is running for President.
DeSantis is making his move.
And Ron DeSantis just dropped a huge bombshell about the biggest COVID response failure.
Politicians who run for President typically release a book that is heavy on biography mixed in with their policy agenda.
These books allow the politician to generate earned media as the book provides an excuse for news shows to book the prospective candidate for interviews.
DeSantis released just such a book on February 28 entitled The Courage to be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for American Revival.
In the book, DeSantis explained that the U.S. government’s failure to hold the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) accountable for releasing COVID out of the Wuhan Institute of Virology was the single greatest failure of the pandemic.
“[t]he fact that the US government has not held the CCP accountable for its actions in covering up the origins of the coronavirus has been a major failure,” DeSantis wrote.
The CCP’s role in the origins of COVID attracted new scrutiny in light of the shocking Wall Street Journal report that the Department of Energy now concludes COVID originated in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
DeSantis explained that COVID exposed America’s over reliance on the CCP despite the fact that Communist China is America’s number one adversary.
“When the coronavirus pandemic hit, it was frightening to see just how much the US is dependent on China for some of the nation’s most critical needs,” DeSantis added. “Everything from N95 masks for medical personnel to testing supplies was made in China.”
DeSantis described it as a “humiliation” for the United States to beg the Chinese for medical supplies even though the coronavirus was a CCP science experiment gone wrong.
“That the US had to beg the CCP for key supplies to fight a pandemic that originated in China was humiliating, particularly because of the CCP’s role in covering up the origins of the virus,” DeSantis wrote. “The initial story was that the virus originated in a wet market in Wuhan, China, but, in fact, the virus likely escaped from the nearby Wuhan Institute of Virology.”
“Either way, the CCP worked hard to cover up the existence and the origins of the coronavirus—to the detriment of the rest of the world,” DeSantis concluded.
