Ron DeSantis called 2022 the “Year of the Parent” in Florida.
“Woke” educators have been put on notice.
And Ron DeSantis just gave parents four words of advice that will terrify “woke” school board officials.
During the pandemic, in places where schools were closed down, kids had to take their classes from home online.
Naturally, this led to parents becoming much more involved in their children’s schoolwork.
However, many parents were horrified to find Marxist-based Critical Race Theory in their children’s curriculum.
Critical Race Theory teaches children that America is a nation founded on white supremacist institutions, and that the only way to “fix” America is by tearing down the entire system and replacing it with a new socialist form of government.
These outraged parents started showing up at local school board meetings to demand answers as to why their children were being brainwashed with left-wing garbage, which led to Joe Biden’s FBI labeling them as “domestic terrorists.”
Ron DeSantis stepped up and fought back against the Left by banning the teaching of Critical Race Theory in Florida’s classrooms and schools.
He also gave parents the right to sue teachers who violated the law by teaching Critical Race Theory in the classroom.
And on Friday, Ron DeSantis signed HB 1467 into law.
According to a press release from Ron DeSantis’ office, HB 1467 “requires school districts to be transparent in the selection of instructional materials, including library and reading materials.”
“As a part of the Year of the Parent, this legislation aims to preserve the rights of parents to make decisions about what materials their children are exposed to in school,” the release continued, adding that, “additionally, the bill sets 12-year term limits for school board members.”
During a press release announcing his signing of the bill, Ron DeSantis doubled down on his promise to fight for parental rights in Florida.
“In Florida, our parents have every right to be involved in their child’s education. We are not going to let politicians deny parents the right to know what is being taught in our schools. I’m proud to sign this legislation that ensures curriculum transparency,” DeSantis said.
Even though the law limits school board members to serving only 12 years, Ron DeSantis told parents they didn’t have to wait that long to remove the “bums.”
“I’m a big believer in term limits. But you don’t always even have to wait for that,” DeSantis said. “You can throw the bums out in the election. If they mistreated your kids, or they didn’t follow the law, or they did anything . . . many of them will be up for re-election.”
DeSantis is also facing his first gubernatorial re-election this fall.
But despite the Left’s constant barrage of lies and smears, DeSantis remains wildly popular with voters in Florida.
And polls show DeSantis is heading to an easy re-election victory in November.
