Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley are in a knock-down-drag-out fight.
But DeSantis may have just delivered the knock-out blow.
And Ron DeSantis just made Nikki Haley live to regret what she said about the Black Lives Matter riots in 2020.
With the Iowa Caucuses less than two months out, establishment Republicans are rallying behind Nikki Haley as their last hope to stop Donald Trump from securing the GOP nomination.
Haley’s recent momentum bump has her running neck and neck with Ron DeSantis, kicking off a war between the two former Governors.
DeSantis recently slammed Nikki Haley over her calls to force social media users to reveal their true identity in order to use the platform.
“Every person on social media should be verified by their name,” Haley said. “First of all, it’s a national security threat. When you do that, all of a sudden, people have to stand by what they say.”
“It gets rid of the Russian bots, the Iranian bots and the Chinese bots,” she added. “And then you’re gonna get some civility when people know their name is next to what they say.”
During an interview with Fox News Channel’s Laura Ingraham, DeSantis agreed to debate Haley one-on-one if she had the courage to accept.
“Count me in!” DeSantis said when Ingraham mentioned hosting the debate between him and Haley.
But in another interview, DeSantis brought up Nikki Haley’s history of supporting the violent Black Lives Matter riots during the summer of 2020.
DeSantis ripped her for not having the courage to stand up and fight a “big fight.”
“[Haley] has never fought any big fight on our behalf as conservatives — and won any big fight,” DeSantis said. “Anytime the guns come out — anytime the Left does, she cuts and runs.”
He cited Haley’s response to the death of George Floyd and the riots that followed as an example of when she cut and run.
“I remember when the George Floyd riots were happening, I called out the National Guard,” DeSantis declared. “I said, ‘I’m standing with the police.’”
But he said that Haley “was tweeting that it needed to be personal and painful for every single person, and I’m thinking to myself, ‘Why does that need to be personal and painful for you or me? We had nothing to do with it.’”
“It just shows an example of her adopting this left-wing mindset and accepting the narrative,” DeSantis concluded.
DeSantis is right.
Nikki Haley has a record of not only refusing to fight for conservative values, but also selling out her base to the radical Left when it’s politically expedient.
And Ron DeSantis is making sure Republican voters know the real Nikki Haley.
