Ron DeSantis has proven he is willing to take on the major battles that other Republicans refuse to fight.
DeSantis is about to take on his most powerful adversary yet.
And Ron DeSantis just released one bold proposal that will put an end to Big Tech censorship in Florida.
Elon Musk’s Twitter Files showed how Big Tech colluded behind the scenes with government officials to censor and silence conservative speech on social media platforms.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis started fighting Big Tech censorship long before the release of Musk’s Twitter Files proved the collusion.
In 2021, DeSantis signed a bill into law prohibiting Big Tech from banning political candidates on their platforms.
A judge in Florida struck down the law last year.
However, DeSantis is not giving up the fight to rein in Big Tech.
“You have some of these massive companies that have huge amounts of power to control the discourse, control what you see,” DeSantis said. “We’ve got to fight back and provide protection.”
And on Wednesday, Ron DeSantis announced his “Digital Bill of Rights” proposal to protect Floridians from Big Tech overreach, including snooping on private information.
“We want to protect your right as a Floridian to have private, in-person conversations without big tech surveilling you,” DeSantis said.
The proposal protects private information from Big Tech surveillance and spying.
“We’re also going to prohibit the unauthorized data collection and retention of real time information about a user through cell phones such as GPS location, biometric data, and other personally identified information,” DeSantis said.
It prohibits “unfair censorship” in online platforms and prevents Big Tech from “manipulating search results.”
Big Tech companies would also be prohibited from selling minors’ information without the consent of the parent or guardian.
“This is helping parents, and this is of course, part of a larger effort that we’ve done to support parents’ rights in the state of Florida,” DeSantis said.
And finally, the bill would make sure the government never colluded behind the scenes with Big Tech to censor speech like “Dr. Fauci, working with Facebook and some of these others, to censor perfectly legitimate information” during the pandemic.

Attorney General Ashley Moody said she strongly supports the legislation, as “Big Tech has gone unchecked for too long and has been reckless with our data, causing major privacy concerns and potentially jeopardizing sensitive state information.”
“I’m proud to stand with Governor DeSantis today to give Silicon Valley a reboot and announce an audacious plan to protect Floridians and keep our children safe online,” she added.
Ron DeSantis is taking on all the important fights that matter most to conservatives.
And Big Tech is the next giant the Governor is planning to conquer.
