Democrats watched their favorite weapon blow up in their faces.
The Left has spent years using accusations of racism to shut down any criticism.
And Ron DeSantis just shut down the race card with two brutal words about Ilhan Omar.
Tim Walz drowning in billion-dollar fraud scandal
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is up to his neck in the biggest fraud scandal to hit a state in decades.
Over the past five years, more than $1 billion in taxpayer money vanished into thin air through schemes involving fake autism clinics, phony housing programs, and child nutrition fraud.¹
Federal prosecutors have charged 78 defendants so far in connection with stealing $250 million from a child nutrition program called Feeding Our Future.²
Most of those charged come from Minnesota's Somali community.
The fraud runs even deeper than originally reported with at least three separate massive schemes draining state coffers.
Another group allegedly defrauded Minnesota's housing stabilization program of more than $104 million by falsely claiming to help people at risk of homelessness.³
A third group is accused of stealing $14 million by billing for autism treatment services that were never provided.⁴
Walz's administration ignored early warnings about the fraud and retaliated against whistleblowers who tried to sound the alarm.
Nearly 500 employees from the Minnesota Department of Human Services accused Walz of being "100% responsible for massive fraud" in their state.⁵
The whistleblowers said they alerted Walz to the schemes early but instead of investigating, he "systematically retaliated against whistleblowers using monitoring, threats, repression."⁶
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer launched an investigation into Walz's handling of the fraud and his administration's efforts to cover it up.⁷
The Treasury Department is also investigating whether Minnesota tax dollars ended up in the hands of the terrorist organization Al-Shabaab.⁸
DeSantis drops truth bomb about the Left's playbook
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appeared on Fox News with Jesse Watters and didn't hold back about what's really happening in Minnesota.
DeSantis pointed out the obvious about Representative Ilhan Omar and how she fled Somalia only to try making America more like the country she escaped.
"This is somebody that fled this terrible country, no rights, and then she comes to the United States and uses our freedoms to try to make us more like the country she fled," DeSantis said. "How does that make any sense?"⁹
The Florida Governor hammered Democrats for decades of immigration policies that brought in people who have no interest in assimilating into American society.
"I think some of these candidates who run there talk about they are not America first but Somali first," DeSantis stated. "It's really a failure of the elites in this country with how they have handled immigration, particularly by putting Americans last."¹⁰
Watters brought up how Democrats immediately scream racism when anyone questions the billion-dollar fraud schemes tied to the Somali community.
That's when DeSantis laid down the law.
"The race card is what they are trying to do to evade accountability," DeSantis explained. "They will say you are racist, that you are Islamophobic if you question why some of these folks have no interest in assimilating into American society."¹¹
DeSantis then delivered the knockout punch Democrats have feared for years.
"I think people on the Republican side, the conservative side, I think we are beyond where they can just sling the race card out and people should be scared of that," DeSantis continued. "That's what they will do, that is their default but I don't think people are buying it anymore."¹²

The Florida Governor is absolutely right.
Democrats have weaponized accusations of racism for so long that Americans have stopped listening.
When legitimate questions get raised about billion-dollar fraud schemes, calling someone racist doesn't make the stolen money magically reappear.
Walz tried every excuse in the book when confronted about the massive fraud on his watch.
The Minnesota Governor actually claimed his state got defrauded because it's too "well-run" and "prosperous."¹³
That's retreat mode when you know you're caught.
Republicans aren't backing down from investigating how a billion dollars got stolen while Walz's administration looked the other way and punished the people who tried stopping it.
DeSantis called out the real failure here, which is immigration policies that put Americans last while elites refuse to demand assimilation or accountability from anyone who arrives in this country.
The race card doesn't work anymore because Americans have watched their tax dollars get looted while being told they're bigots for asking basic questions about where their money went.
Walz knew about the fraud, ignored the warnings, and retaliated against whistleblowers who tried protecting taxpayer dollars.
That's not about race or religion.
That's about a Democrat Governor putting politics ahead of his duty to protect the people who elected him.
