The woke mind virus has infected corporate America.
No one has done more to fight back than Governor Ron DeSantis.
And Ron DeSantis just struck another blow against woke corporations by signing this act into law.
It’s hard not to notice how woke corporate America has become recently.
It seems all too many companies are in a competition to out-woke one another.
Companies seem to be putting wokeness above making a profit, as we have seen with the fallout from Bud Light and their parent company Anheuser-Busch, which saw sales drop by more than 26% after partnering with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney.
You would think these companies’ corporate leadership have lost their mind, but there is actually something more sinister at play.
A big reason we see companies acting this way is because of a leftist scheme known as ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) investing.
ESG rules allow investments to be made based on how much a company does to advance the leftist agenda rather than on monetary returns.
It rewards woke companies and punishes those the Left dislikes, such as oil companies and gun manufacturers.
Many state governments use ESG criteria to invest state employee pension funds.
But that won’t be happening now in Florida thanks to legislation Governor DeSantis just signed to ban the Florida pension fund from using ESG, and instead focus on maximizing returns for their beneficiaries.
In a statement after signing the bill, DeSantis said, ESG is a way for elites to “exercise power over our society.”
“They’re trying to change society. They’re trying to change policy […] You do not displace [your] fiduciary duty to try to pursue ideology,” the Governor said.

The bill strikes at the heart of corporate wokeness, and will mean more money for Florida retirees, as investments must now focus only on maximizing returns rather than rewarding woke companies.
DeSantis is also leading a group of Republican Governors to stop ESG in other states.
ESG is one of the many ways the radical Left is working to get their tentacles into every aspect of society.
