Ron DeSantis just took a major step toward keeping the Communist Chinese out of Florida

The Communist Chinese have been quietly buying up America’s farmland for the past few years.

Many Americans are growing concerned, especially considering Joe Biden’s pro-China policies.

But Ron DeSantis just took a major step toward keeping the Communist Chinese out of Florida.

Joe Biden started working to reverse Donald Trump’s tough-on-China policies on Day One of his administration.

Of course, many Americans already believe the President is compromised by China through son Hunter’s business deals.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is trying to stop the rise of the Chinese influence in the Sunshine State.

On Monday, Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law prohibiting Chinese government agencies, businesses, and citizens from owning land in Florida.

“Today we’re really recognizing the threat and we’re taking action and doing measures that no other state has done at this level,” DeSantis said. “I want to thank the legislature for recognizing that we needed to step up and make things happen.”

Over the years, China has been buying up farmland all over the country.

In 2021, Chinese investors purchased $6.1 billion worth of homes and land across the United States.

DeSantis said handing America’s food security over to the Communist Chinese was a terrible idea that threatens national security.

“Our food security is also national security and so we don’t want the CCP in charge of any food production,” DeSantis said. “We really need to have a unified effort in this country to deter the CCPs ambitions and their influence and part of that is asserting our economic sovereignty.”

But the law is not just limited to farmland.

It also applies to any land within 10 miles of a military installation or any type of critical infrastructure in Florida.

Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson thanked the legislature for passing the bill.

Simpson said food security cannot be separated from national security, even though “when it comes to food, we don’t always think about it as a national security issue.”

“So when we think about taxing food, when we think about regulating our farmers, when we think about putting burdens on the back of our farmers – that’s the view that we need to look at it through,” Simpson said.

Governmental entities that deal with an individual’s personal information are also prohibited from knowingly entering into a contract with a company or business if the government of a “foreign country of concern” has a controlling interest in the entity.

A “foreign country of concern” refers to the People’s Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Republic of Cuba, the Venezuelan regime of Nicolas Maduro, and the Syrian Arab Republic.

“I’m proud to sign this legislation to stop the purchase of our farmland and land near our military bases and critical infrastructure by Chinese agents, to stop sensitive digital data from being stored in China, and to stop CCP influence in our education system from grade school to grad school,” DeSantis said in a press release. “We are following through on our commitment to crack down on Communist China.”

DeSantis promised to protect Floridians from the Communist Chinese if elected to a second term.

And DeSantis just made good on that promise by keeping Florida’s land out of the hands of the Communist Chinese.
