The Iowa Caucus kicks off the GOP Presidential Primary race on January 15.
This gives Ron DeSantis roughly three months to make his case to Republican voters.
But Ron DeSantis made one choice in life that sets him apart from every other candidate for President.
On Wednesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis launched his Veterans for DeSantis Coalition.
According to a press release from the DeSantis campaign, the Veterans Coalition “features a National Leadership Team as well as grassroots veterans from across the country who will share how DeSantis’s military service and vision to reverse America’s decline make him the best suited to serve as Commander-in-Chief.”
DeSantis also unveiled his “plan to support America’s veterans,” which includes a number of items such as to “ensure veterans have access to a simple, straight-forward portal connecting all available support from federal, state, local, private, business, religious, and charitable organizations, similar to Florida’s Care Portal and Hope Navigators.”
Of course, virtually all Republican candidates support the military and believe in making sure veterans get the benefits they were promised and deserve.
But Ron DeSantis is uniquely qualified on military and national defense issues.
DeSantis is the only candidate running for President who served in the United States military.
If elected President, DeSantis would be the “first President to serve in a war to be elected since 1988.”
“D.C. elites have weakened our nation’s military – wokeism runs rampant, morale has taken a nosedive, and recruitment has sunk to an all-time low,” DeSantis said. “The ruling class has also left behind the patriots who put their life on the line for America, and that ends under my administration.”
“We will restore our military and take care of our heroes,” DeSantis said. “I know what it means to wear the cloth of our country, and I will not let America’s veterans down.”
After he graduated from Harvard Law School, Ron DeSantis earned a commission in the U.S. Navy as a JAG officer.
During his time in the military, DeSantis served in Iraq in support of the SEAL mission in Fallujah, Ramadi and the Al Anbar province and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service and the Iraq Campaign Medal.
Ron DeSantis is the only candidate with military service under his belt.
And his decision to serve the country sets him apart from every other candidate in the race.
