Donald Trump faced another assassination attempt at his Florida golf club.
The public is searching for answers on how this happened again.
And Ron DeSantis noticed one overlooked detail about the Trump assassination attempt.
Ron DeSantis reveals a key detail about Trump’s golf course
Another assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump was foiled by Secret Service agents at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Would-be assassin Ryan Wesley Routh hid in bushes by a fence near the sixth hole of course for 12 hours waiting for Trump to play through.
Trump came within 400 to 500 yards of where Routh was stationed but Secret Service agents scouting ahead noticed his scoped rifle point through the chain-linked fence.
Routh fled the scene after gunfire from agents and was arrested in nearby Martin County.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is an avid golfer and has played the Trump International Golf Club with the former President.
“When I played with him there, there was a lot of security,” DeSantis said.
He said that the sixth hole of the course ran along the fence line where Routh was positioned.
“Just me as a playing partner, and as governor, just thinking about it — I was like, that is the soft underbelly from a security perspective,” DeSantis said about the sixth hole. “You can’t not notice that when you’re on that golf course.”
DeSantis who infrequently played the course noticed this security vulnerability, but it slipped past the Secret Service detail protecting Trump.
Florida running its own parallel investigation into the attempted assassination
DeSantis announced that Florida would conduct its own investigation into the assassination attempt against Trump.
“The state of Florida has jurisdiction over the most serious, straightforward offense, which is attempted murder,” DeSantis said.
Routh was arrested on federal charges of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
DeSantis cast doubt on the Biden-Harris administration’s desire to conduct a thorough and fair investigation.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is leading the federal government’s investigation of the attempted assassination.
“I do think that there’s a lot of concern about how these agencies have operated,” DeSantis said. “We’re not involved in any of those other things that the Justice Department is involved in.”
He noted that these are the same agencies that conducted a witch hunt against Trump.
“Nevertheless, they have their prerogative, but we have our prerogative, and so we’ll be making an announcement further along those lines in the ensuing days,” DeSantis stated.
DeSantis assigned Florida’s investigation to the Office of Statewide Prosecutor under the jurisdiction of Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody.
Moody is having the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Florida Highway Patrol lead the investigation.
“The people of Florida deserve answers, and we will not stop until we know the truth and how we can best prevent similar attacks in Florida,” Moody said.
Florida’s parallel investigation will be able to keep the Biden-Harris administration from trying to whitewash what happened during the latest Trump assassination attempt.
