Congressman Charlie Crist and Agricultural Commissioner Nikki Fried are the two Democrats running for the opportunity to take on Ron DeSantis in November.
Fried and Crist are fighting over who is the most far-Left candidate.
But Ron DeSantis received an endorsement that highlights one major difference between him and his potential Democrat opponents.
Ron DeSantis is one of the most popular Republicans in America.
Polls show that if Donald Trump decides not to run for President again in 2024, the GOP nomination will be DeSantis’ for the taking if he wants it.
But before he can think about running for the Oval Office, DeSantis must first get re-elected to a second term as Governor this fall.
Polls currently show DeSantis defeating both Nikki Fried and Charlie Crist in a hypothetical matchup by more than nine points.
And on the fundraising side, DeSantis is crushing his opponents.
After he rose to popularity during the pandemic and then for his fight against the woke Left, Ron DeSantis has raised a record-breaking $124 million, making him the top state-level fundraiser in America.
But Democrats aren’t giving up on defeating DeSantis.
After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Crist and Fried tried to use the issue of abortion to mobilize support for their campaigns.
Fried attacked Crist by bringing up his record as the former Republican Governor of Florida, accusing him of not being pro-abortion enough.
Of course, Crist responded by reaffirming his support for abortion-on-demand up until birth and sometimes after.
But while the Democrats are battling it out over who is the most pro-abortion candidate, Ron DeSantis has long staked out his position as a believer in the Sanctity of Life.
In April, DeSantis signed a bill into law banning most abortions in Florida after 15 weeks.
When the Supreme Court overturned Roe, DeSantis praised the decision, declaring that “the prayers of millions have been answered” and promising to “work to expand pro-life protections” in Florida.
And now DeSantis just received the endorsement of one of the largest Pro-Life groups in America.
On Tuesday, in a statement describing him as a “fearless advocate for the unborn and their mothers,” SBA Pro-Life America Candidate Fund endorsed Ron DeSantis for re-election.
“We’re proud to endorse Governor Ron DeSantis, a fearless advocate for the unborn and their mothers and for the will of Floridians,” SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement, praising the governor for following the science.
“Gov. DeSantis is right: science shows unborn children are human like us and feel excruciating pain in brutal late abortions,” the statement continued. “Lives are being saved today thanks to his strong leadership, and he continues to stand up for the people’s right to enact their values in the law – not have abortion on demand until birth imposed on them by unelected judges,” the statement added, before expressing gratitude for DeSantis’ “unflinching commitment to moms and babies.”
Along with their endorsement, SBA Pro-Life America and Women Speak Out PAC are providing “boots on the ground” for DeSantis in Florida, already visiting “over 380,000 homes of voters across the state.”
While Nikki Fried and Charlie Crist tear each other down ahead of the August 23 Primary, Ron DeSantis is mobilizing his base and moving closer to his goal of turning Florida into a solid Red state this fall.
