Ron DeSantis roasted Nikki Haley for her latest attempt to control freedom lovin’ Americans

Nov 20, 2023

Nikki Haley’s downward spiral is hard to watch.

In her latest outrageous comment – she called for unthinkable monitoring of freedom lovin’ Americans.

But Ron DeSantis seized the opportunity and roasted Nikki Haley’s authoritarian demands.

Haley wants all social media users “verified”

In an outrageous statement, Nikki Haley told Fox News that “every person on social media should be verified for their name.”

According to Haley – not verifying users is a “national security risk.”

She continued on her authoritarian kick and added, “When you do that, all of a sudden people have to stand by what they say. And it gets rid of the Russian bots, the Iranian bots and the Chinese bots.”

But she wasn’t done yet.

According to Haley, if everyone posts by their name it will make Americans more “civil.”

“And then you’re going to get some civility when people know their name is next to what they say, and they know their pastor and their family members are going to see it,” Haley continued.

Sound familiar?

Whenever a politician wants to exert more control – they claim it’s a “national security risk” to force compliance.

The DeSantis campaign had a fiery comeback

DeSantis was quick to knock Haley and stated, “You know who were anonymous writers back in the day? Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison when they wrote the Federalist Papers.”

He continued “They were not ‘national security threats,’ nor are the many conservative Americans across the country who exercise their Constitutional right to voice their opinions without fear of being harassed or canceled by the school they go to or the company they work for,” Fox News reported.

But according to Nikki Haley – people shouldn’t have the freedom to post anonymously.

Nikki Haley for President gear

The DeSantis campaign seized the opportunity and launched merchandise t-shirts that said “every person on social media should be verified for their name” with the slogan Nikki Haley for President at the bottom.

On the back of the shirt the phrase “always watching” was displayed with binoculars.

Hilarious!

Except the scary thing is – if Haley actually becomes President – it’s clear she’d adapt a big brother approach to spying on American citizens and policing their content.

Americans don’t want an authoritarian President stifling their freedom of speech.

Haley received such blowback from her “social media verification” comments, she went on to “clarify” her original statements and water them down.

On Squawk Box, Haley was asked if she really believes people can’t tweet anonymously.

Haley nervously replied people should stand by what they say and stated “Do I think life would be more civil if we were able to do that? Yes.”

But then she added “But no, you can have anonymous — I don’t mind anonymous American people having free speech, what I don’t like is anonymous Russians and Chinese and Iranians having free speech,” CNBC reported.

DeSantis was clear that a proposal like Haley’s would be “dead on arrival” in his administration.
