Democrats are scrambling.
The Supreme Court is poised to issue a ruling overturning Roe v. Wade.
And Ron DeSantis said one word about left-wing protesters that sent Democrats off the rails.
During an interview on Monday with Fox & Friends, Ron DeSantis ripped Democrats for allowing radical leftists to “get away with a lot more than if the shoe were on the other foot.”
DeSantis was talking about how, despite the fact that it is against federal and state law to protest outside of a judge’s home, Democrats are refusing to arrest the leftists gathered outside the homes of conservative Supreme Court Justices.
Even after a madman with a gun was arrested for attempting to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh, protesters were still allowed to gather outside his home on the very same day.
The left-wing group ShutDownDC is also planning a massive “blockade” of the Supreme Court ahead of a potential decision overturning Roe v. Wade.
DeSantis said that this was the real “insurrection,” not the events that occurred at the Capitol on January 6.
“You don’t just get to have a mob descend on Supreme Court Justices’ houses or try to impede operations of government because there may be a decision you don’t like,” DeSantis said. “That would be considered an insurrection: to stop a court from functioning, and yet they seem to be able to get away with a lot more than if the shoe were on the other foot.”
Apparently, DeSantis ruffled the feathers of Democrats by calling the left-wing attempt to pressure the Justices into not overturning Roe an “insurrection.”
Santa Rosa Beach lawyer Daniel Uhlfelder is the Democrat candidate running against Republican Ashley Moody for Attorney General in November.
In a media release on Tuesday, Uhlfelder said DeSantis’ claim was “absurd” and called it a “betrayal of free speech.”
Uhlfelder then outrageously claimed that “DeSantis is attempting to distract from the violent assault on the U.S. Capitol, which he has refused to acknowledge.”
He also parroted the left-wing talking point that DeSantis was condemning “peaceful” protesters.
Of course, the protesters are anything but “peaceful.”
Not only did one attempt to assassinate Justice Kavanaugh, but as DeSantis simply pointed out, protesting outside of the homes of Supreme Court Justices is a violation of federal and state law.
But abortion is considered a sacred right in the Democrat Party.
So they won’t condemn the protesters.
Instead, Democrats are encouraging them to continue fighting to stop the Supreme Court from overturning Roe and returning the abortion issue back to the states.
And Democrats are angry at Ron DeSantis for exposing their double standard when it comes to enforcing the rule of law.
