The Left’s woke ideology has dominated America’s educational system for years.
That all started to change when Ron DeSantis entered the fight.
And Ron DeSantis shared one lesson about leadership that every conservative politician needs to hear.
After his narrow 0.4% victory in 2018, Ron DeSantis quickly rose to stardom and became the most popular elected Republican official in the country and a top contender for the GOP nomination in 2024.
DeSantis first caught the attention of Republican voters when he became the first Governor to go against Biden and Fauci by reopening the state and refusing to enforce lockdowns.
He then banned masks and vaccine mandates in Florida, which made him an enemy of the Democrats and the left-wing media.
But Ron DeSantis was just getting started with his battle against the Left, as the Governor then set his sights on removing Critical Race Theory and other woke nonsense from schools in Florida.
Despite facing a vicious national smear campaign from the media and the Biden administration, as well as pressure from Disney, the largest employer in the state, DeSantis refused to back down and signed a parental rights in education bill into law that ended left-wing grooming in elementary schools.
From taking on the Left’s woke ideology to strengthening election security to battling Biden’s border crisis to taking on George Soros-backed prosecutors, DeSantis is leading the fight on the issues that conservatives have shied away from for years.
DeSantis also showed Republicans that you could win by fighting for conservative values as proven by his 19-point landslide re-election victory last November.
As part of a tour promoting his new book, DeSantis recently delivered a speech at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California.
DeSantis said Florida’s pro-freedom policies served as a “great experiment, a great test in governing philosophies.”
“And I think if you look over the last four or five years, and you look at the performances of individual states, and you compare Florida versus California, New York, Illinois, some of those other states, we have had a great experiment, a great test in governing philosophies,” he said. “Because, of course, you know, we approach things much differently in Florida than you guys have out here, much differently in Florida than they’ve done in New York and in Illinois.”
DeSantis pointed to the “great American exodus from states governed by leftist politicians imposing leftist ideology and delivering poor results” along with the “massive gains in states like Florida, who are governing according to the tried and true principles that President Reagan held dear.”
The Florida Governor also offered some advice about standing on principle that every conservative politician needs to hear.
“The lesson is: Swing for the fences,” DeSantis said. “You will be rewarded,” he continued, before adding “don’t worry about the polls; don’t worry about the daily news cycle, and for Pete’s sake, don’t worry about the media and what they say.”
“Do what is right, and the voters will reward you,” the Governor concluded.
