Ron DeSantis shook his head in disbelief when Donald Trump announced his support for this one measure

Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis traded blows with one another during the Republican Presidential Primary race.

The feud ended after DeSantis dropped out and threw his support behind Donald Trump.

But Ron DeSantis shook his head in disbelief when Donald Trump announced his support for this one measure.

Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump were enemies when the Republican Presidential Primary first kicked off last year.

Donald Trump referred to DeSantis by a host of nasty nicknames, such as “Meatball Ron” and “Ron DeSanctus.”

DeSantis returned the fire by attacking Donald Trump for his handling of COVID, his out-of-control spending, and for not following through on his promise to build the wall.

Of course, Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis agree on virtually every major issue except abortion.

DeSantis signed a ban on abortions after six weeks into law and Donald Trump called it “a terrible mistake.”

But DeSantis ended his bid after Donald Trump’s record victory in the Iowa Caucus and endorsed the former President.

DeSantis also agreed to use his exceptional fundraising skills to help raise money for Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign.

But the feud between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis just reignited over Amendment 3, a ballot initiative to legalize recreational marijuana in Florida.

Amendment 3 needs to win the support of at least 60% of voters to pass and become law.

A summary of the ballot initiative reads:

Allows adults 21 years or older to possess, purchase, or use marijuana products and marijuana accessories for non-medical personal consumption by smoking, ingestion, or otherwise; allows Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers, and other state-licensed entities, to acquire, cultivate, process, manufacture, sell, and distribute such products and accessories. Applies to Florida law; does not change, or immunize violations of, federal law. Establishes possession limits for personal use. Allows consistent legislation. Defines terms. Provides effective date.

Florida currently allows medical marijuana in the state.

Residents simply have to visit a doctor and get a prescription they take to a dispensary to legally purchase marijuana.

Amendment 3 would allow all legal-age Florida residents to buy marijuana from a dispensary.

There are 24 states plus Washington, D.C. that have already legalized recreational marijuana in small amounts.

Another 14 states have legalized it for medical use only.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a fierce opponent of Amendment 3.

DeSantis recently spoke to a group of people at a church in Tallahassee about the importance of defeating Amendment 3.

He said he does not like the smell and claimed that it would create a drug cartel that is backed by the State Constitution.

“Public use of this will be rampant,” DeSantis said. “You can’t point to a state that is better off for doing it.”

But a few hours after DeSantis spoke to the church group about defeating Amendment 3, Donald Trump announced his support for it in a post on Truth Social.

“As a Floridian, I will be voting YES on Amendment 3 this November,” Trump wrote in the Sunday Truth post. “As President, we will continue to focus on research to unlock medical uses of marijuana to a schedule 3 drug, and work with Congress to pass common sense laws.”

Trump and DeSantis taking opposite positions shows how Republicans are deeply divided on the issue of recreational cannabis

Conservatives like DeSantis viciously oppose it and conservatives like Trump do not mind it.

The Florida Young Republicans sided with Trump and officially endorsed Amendment 3 in a press release on Tuesday.

Only time will tell whether Floridians agree with Trump or DeSantis.
