Iowa polls show Donald Trump crushing every other candidate with a double-digit lead.
But don’t discount Ron DeSantis just yet.
Ron DeSantis has a solid ground game in Iowa and continues to earn critical support from grassroots voters that just might push him to victory.
The polls don’t tell all
A recent Iowa poll shows Trump leading with 42 percent of respondents backing his campaign.
Ron DeSantis is in second place with 19 percent – and no other candidate has even earned double digit support.
Republican Presidential candidates are desperate to make a name for themselves so they continue to gang up on DeSantis . . .
. . . but it’s clear this race is all about Trump vs. DeSantis – no other candidate is even viable.
So does Donald Trump really have it in the bag?
One might be tempted to think it’s over for DeSantis . . .
. . . but his ground game is strong and he continues to pick up support from local grassroots activists.
The race is closer than it seems
While Trump is still ahead in Iowa – it’s only August.
A lot can change before Caucus Day on January 15 – and Trump is more fragile than he appears.
In fact, Fox News Digital reports DeSantis received a historic 40 endorsements from Iowa state legislators – and 120 county-level chairs supporting him (at least one in each of Iowa’s 99 counties).
That’s more than any other candidate in the race.
The DeSantis campaign has been clear that a huge part of their strategy is focusing on the early states – and it looks like their hard work is finally paying off.
DeSantis continues to win endorsements
Dr. Troy Scheuermann is proud to back DeSantis and posted “I’m not only going to vote on #caucus night, I will stand up & speak for @GovRonDeSantis bc he is a forward-looking leader w executive experience! He’s a family man who served our Country in the Navy. I will serve as one of his 99 County Chairs! #RDS2024 #IowaPolitics.”
Iowa evangelical leader Bob Vander Plaats thought the endorsement was big enough to re-share and hinted that the polls don’t tell the whole story.
Vander Plaats wrote on X “While most get caught up in polling, I believe it’s more wise to assess what’s happening on the ground. @dr_tschiro is a HUGE pickup for @RonDeSantis efforts in Iowa. With this endorsement, SouthEast Iowa just tilted heavily in DeSantis favor. #ChooseWell2024.”

Polls can say a lot of things – but often they are wrong.
The best gauge of a candidate’s strength is talking to those who are on the front lines.
Trump may enjoy a current polling lead in Iowa – but DeSantis might deliver the biggest surprise yet come Caucus Day.
