Ron DeSantis threw Democrats for a loop when he backed this surprising policy

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis set the gold standard for conservative policy at the state level.

He’s looking to be even more innovative during his presidential campaign.

And Ron DeSantis threw Democrats for a loop when he backed this surprising policy.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a champion for the lives of the unborn in the Sunshine State.

He signed into law a heartbeat bill that protects babies with beating hearts by banning abortion after six weeks.

DeSantis has said that he thinks that abortions often occur because a woman is in tough circumstances where she’s not getting support from the father.

The Florida Governor said that men being required to pay child support to the mother during pregnancy would help reduce abortions during an interview with Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany.

McEnany asked about a bill from Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), the Unborn Child Support Act, that starts a father’s obligation to pay child support the first month that a child is conceived as determined by a doctor.

“Most of these women do not want to have abortions, but they feel like they have no other options because they get no support,” DeSantis said. “And that’s because a lot of these men are nowhere to be found — they should absolutely be providing support; they should absolutely be held accountable.”

DeSantis that being pro-Life meant “the whole kit and caboodle” which means supporting pregnant women.

He pointed out that in Florida he increased opportunities for adoption and foster care along with expanding medical care for low-income women to a full year beyond birth.

“I think a lot of it comes down to whether women think it’s financially feasible to do that, and when they don’t get support from the father, then it can be overwhelming,” DeSantis continued. “So we in Florida are sympathetic to those women in that situation.”

DeSantis previously said the number one reason that women get abortions is because they feel abandoned or that they’re not getting enough support.

He’s worked to improve the support that pregnant women have to make it easier for them to choose Life.

This is another addition to the pro-family policies supported by DeSantis during his presidential campaign.

He said earlier that a goal for his presidency would be to make it so one income could support a family.

“We will diversify and expand our economy by rewarding hard work and empowering our citizens to control their own destinies,” DeSantis wrote in an op-ed. “We want to be a country that makes things, where a family can raise children on a single income, and where young people can develop the skills and values necessary to build a decent life and contribute to their communities.”

Easing the financial burden on families and expectant mothers would make it easier to raise children.

Ron DeSantis is willing to put his money where his mouth is by supporting pregnant women to build a culture of Life.
