Ron DeSantis took everyone by surprise when he dropped this hint about his future

Jan 26, 2024

Ron DeSantis is out of the Republican Presidential Primary.

There is one big question on the minds of his supporters.

And Ron DeSantis took everyone by surprise when he dropped this hint about his future.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis suspended his Presidential campaign shortly before the New Hampshire Primary.

He went all in on trying to win the Iowa caucus but finished a distant second behind former President Donald Trump.

DeSantis is heading back to Florida to finish his term as Governor.

The Presidential campaign did not have the results he or his supporters desired, but at 45 years old the future is bright for the rising conservative star.

DeSantis gave his first interview after suspending his campaign on the Steve Deace Show.

He hinted that another Presidential run could be in the cards in 2028.

“We’ll see what the future holds,” DeSantis said.

The Florida governor said that 2024 is “really a hinge point in American history and if we don’t get it right, you know, I don’t know what it’s going to look like in the future. So, who knows?”

Despite coming up short, he thought that he made a “strong impression” on voters who wanted to stick with Trump for 2024.

“When I was in Iowa, a lot of these folks that stuck with the President were very supportive of what I’ve done in Florida. They thought I was a good candidate,” DeSantis said. “I even had people say they think that I would even do better as President, but they felt that they owed Trump another shot. And so, I think we really made a strong impression.”

DeSantis was consistently the second choice for Trump voters in the Iowa caucus according to polling.

The Florida Governor believes that he has “got a lot of support” going into the future.

“Most of the people that supported me, whether activists, whether volunteers, whether fundraisers, you know, they’re all on board, you know, for what the future holds. So, we’ll be active,” DeSantis explained.

The connections and the work that he put in Iowa and other states could pay dividends in another Presidential run.

“We’ll be exercising leadership down here in Florida and holding down the fort for freedom,” DeSantis said. “And so we’ll see what the future holds. But I hope we can get a good result in 2024 because if we don’t, it’s going to be tough sledding for this country.”

He added that if the “Left” is “unimpeded” states like Florida and Iowa would be needed as a “refuge.”

Win or lose, 2024 is likely the last Presidential campaign for Trump.

DeSantis can continue to set the tone nationally with his bold conservative agenda and keep battling the Left as Governor

He could start the 2028 GOP Primary as one of the favorites after becoming one of the most popular and effective Republican politicians in the country.
