Ron DeSantis took The Washington Post to task for spreading this nasty lie about his Press Secretary

Jun 10, 2022

The corporate-controlled media hates Ron DeSantis.

They’ll do anything – including attacking members of his administration – to try to take him down.

And Ron DeSantis just took The Washington Post to task for spreading this nasty lie about his Press Secretary.

The corporate-controlled media has been after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis from the moment he stood up and rejected Joe Biden’s masks and vaccine mandates.

Despite their constant attacks against DeSantis during the pandemic, as well as their continued smears over his pushing back against the woke Left, the Florida Governor is more popular now than ever before.

Polls consistently show him handily defeating both of his potential Democrat opponents this fall.

Since their attacks against him failed to work, the corporate-controlled media is now going after members of his administration in an effort to harm and undermine DeSantis.

The most recent attempt came when The Washington Post ran a smear piece against DeSantis’ Press Secretary, Christina Pushaw, essentially attempting to paint her as a Russian agent.

Of course, this turned out to be a bald-faced lie.

Fox News reported:

Pushaw’s attorney Michael Sherwin said in a statement obtained by Fox News, “Ms. Pushaw did volunteer work helping to advocate for former Georgian President Miikheil Saakashvili, a close ally of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the need for free elections and democratic institutions in Georgia where she was living at the time.

“She was then paid for some of that work, totaling $25,000 over two years, which covered some of her living expenses. Her efforts included writing op-eds, reaching out to supporters and officials, and advocating on his behalf in Georgia and in the United States,” Sherwin explained.

Even though the work Pushaw did ended in 2020, before she joined the DeSantis administration, she was just notified by the DOJ that her work on behalf of Saakashvili likely required FARA registration.

“Ms. Pushaw filed for the registration retroactively as soon as she was made aware,” her attorney’s statement read.

However, Ron DeSantis is not about to allow the corporate-controlled press to get away with spreading lies about members of his administration.

During a press conference on Wednesday, DeSantis was asked to comment about the hit piece from The Washington Post against Pushaw.

And DeSantis let the press know exactly how he feels about them.

“I am not deterred by any smear piece from these legacy media outlets,” DeSantis said. “The only reason they’re attacking her is because she does a great job, and she’s effective at calling out their lies and their phony narratives.”

DeSantis added, “Whenever they’re smearing somebody, you know that person is over the target and they’re scared of them. I would be much more concerned with my secretary if The Washington Post was writing puff pieces about her. Then I would think something is wrong.”

DeSantis also slammed the corporate-controlled media for attacking members of his administration, telling them that “we don’t care what you think anymore.”

“We know you peddle narratives,” DeSantis said. “We know you lie. We know you don’t care about the facts. And so you can try to smear me or anyone in my administration all you want to. All that’s going to do is embolden us to continue moving forward for the people in Florida,” DeSantis added.

One of the reasons why Americans like Ron DeSantis is because not only does he take on important fights against the Left, but he’s also willing to stand up to the corporate-controlled media and call out their lies and smears.

And Republican voters love him for it.
