Deion Sanders has faced his share of health challenges since moving to Colorado.
His son just signed with an NFL team far away from his famous father.
And Shilo Sanders left Floridians speechless with this brutal joke about Deion Sanders’ missing toes.
Shilo Sanders makes shocking comment about Coach Prime’s amputated toes
Shilo Sanders, son of NFL legend and Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, recently signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL draft.
While discussing his upcoming move to Florida during a livestream, Shilo was asked if he planned to go fishing in his new home state.
His response sent shockwaves through social media.
“No, I’m not fishing in Tampa, bro, I will never go fishing anywhere in Florida,” Shilo declared.
He then delivered a jaw-dropping punchline about his father’s well-documented medical issues.
“I’m not fishing nowhere in Florida, messing around and take my dad fishing, an alligator gon take the rest of his toes,” he said.
Fans erupted with laughter in the comments section, but the joke highlighted a serious medical ordeal Coach Prime endured.
Deion Sanders’ toe amputation nightmare
The joke referenced Sanders’ 2021 foot surgery, which began as a procedure to fix a dislocated toe and an inflamed nerve.
Complications quickly escalated into something much more serious.
Blood clots and compartment syndrome forced doctors to make a devastating decision.
According to the source material, Sanders had several toes amputated, leaving him with only two toes remaining on his left foot.
This medical crisis wasn’t just painful—it nearly cost Sanders his entire foot.
Todd Bowles takes a chance on Coach Prime’s son
Despite not being drafted, Shilo caught the attention of Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles, who expressed confidence in the young safety’s abilities.
“I’m excited to get him in here and see how he moves. I saw him tackle all year. I saw him make plays,” Bowles said. “He’s a very smart player and understands the game well. So we thought it was worth a shot to see what he can do, and I think he’ll show himself well.”
The younger Sanders put together an impressive final season with the Colorado Buffaloes, recording 67 total tackles, two tackles for loss, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and two defended passes.
Antonio Brown reveals shocking fishing incident with Deion Sanders
This isn’t the first time Coach Prime’s fishing activities have raised eyebrows.
Former NFL star Antonio Brown recently shared a startling story about a 2020 fishing trip with Sanders that went horribly wrong.
Brown claimed he got a hook stuck in his toe while fishing with Sanders.
Instead of seeking medical attention, Sanders allegedly used pliers to get that fishhook out of his toe.
“(He) never asked me ’bout my tone once, till this day,” Brown wrote in his post, suggesting Sanders showed little concern for his well-being.
Sanders has a documented history of fishing mishaps, including a 1996 incident where he was caught trespassing at a lake near Fort Myers Airport.
“The police pulled up, ‘Hey, private property, you got to come on in,'” he recalled back in May of 2024.
Unfazed, Deion legitimately told them that “the fish are really biting, man, like they’re really biting” before he was eventually escorted off the property.
Sanders has previously explained his passion for fishing.
He said that “fishing is peaceful and relaxing, and I love the calmness and the serenity of water.”
But if Shilo has his way, his father will need to find that serenity somewhere other than the alligator-infested waters of Florida.
