The radical transgender lobby wants to force taxpayers to foot the bill for harmful and potentially irreversible hormone “treatment” and surgical mutilation.
Lambda legal, a group of radical LGBT lawyers are suing to overturn Florida’s law that bans Medicaid from covering these procedures.
Other pro-transgender groups and members of the medical establishment, including The American Academy of Pediatrics, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, and the Endocrine Society, and 20 other groups have signed onto an Amicus Brief in support of overturning the Florida law.
Lambda tried to get the court to temporarily block the rule while the case is being considered, but they refused, stating that the states position that transgender interventions are experimental as a reasonable position.
Lambda cited several of the organizations that signed the Amicus Brief in arguing against the state’s position.
But now those same organizations whose studies are being used to argue in favor of transgender surgery are refusing to give the court their own documents that show how they came to their conclusion.
The interest groups are attempting to quash subpoenas for their records relevant to arguments being used by Lambda, stating they are not parties to the case, even though they have signed onto the joint Amicus Brief.
While these groups claim to be scientific and medical authorities on the issue, they are afraid of having their own research being put under scrutiny.
The fact is many medical professionals disagree with treatment for transgenderism, including some who once worked for these very groups.
Dr. Stephen B. Levine, a psychiatrist who worked for the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, has criticized the group as being “dominated by politics and ideology,” and said the group’s standards of care are not evidence based.
Dr. Julia Mason, a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, accused the organization of suppressing legitimate scientific dissent, saying, “AAP has stifled debate on how best to treat youth in distress over their bodies, shut down efforts by critics to present better scientific approaches . . . and put its thumb on the scale . . . in favor of shoddy but politically correct research.”
Supporting the state’s case are three men who went through chemical and surgical gender transitions only to later come to regret it.
These men said that they later detransitioned and embraced their biological sex after they got actual psychological care to deal with childhood trauma.
The case clearly shows that the transgender movement is anti-science and causes real world harm, especially to America’s youth.
