Florida social media stunts have reached a new low.
One man crossed the line with a revolting performance that left police and bystanders horrified.
And this Florida man got arrested for one disgusting stunt two miles from Mar-a-Lago.
Social media influencer butchers dead hog on Worth Avenue
Jonathan Houston, 27, of Clewiston, Florida turned one of Palm Beach’s most iconic landmarks into the backdrop for his latest social media “content creation” on November 23.
Houston brought a dead hog to the Worth Avenue Clock Tower — a picturesque spot where tourists and locals gather for photos against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean.
What happened next would make even the most hardened social media addicts gag.
With his camera rolling, Houston knelt on the public sidewalk and cut open the hog’s torso with a knife.
Blood and organs spilled onto the walkway as Houston reached into the carcass and tore out chunks of flesh through the slit in the animal’s neck.
Then he bit into the raw meat.
A witness called 911 thinking she was watching someone butcher a German Shepherd in broad daylight.
“The witness told investigators she saw the animal’s torso cut open and blood spilling onto the walkway,” Palm Beach police reported.¹
The Worth Avenue Clock Tower sits just two miles north of President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club.
This 25-foot landmark was built in 2010 as part of a $15 million renovation of Worth Avenue and cost $600,000 to construct.²
Families use this spot for graduation photos, wedding pictures, and vacation memories.
Now it’s the scene of a grotesque social media stunt that cost taxpayers hundreds of dollars to clean up.
Police tracked down raw meat enthusiast through license plate readers
Houston didn’t stick around to admire his handiwork.
He got into his white Chevrolet van and drove away — but Palm Beach police had already spotted him.
The town’s license plate reader system captured Houston’s vehicle crossing the Royal Park Bridge minutes after the 911 call came in.
Police contacted Houston by phone about two hours later.
He admitted the animal was a hog and actually sent officers the video he recorded.
The footage shows Houston holding the dead hog by its upper torso, the neck split open, as he takes a bite out of its flesh with the Clock Tower in the background.
Houston told police he “records videos of himself eating raw animals for social media.”³
His Instagram account backs that up — it’s filled with videos of him cutting open dead animals and eating raw organs in various locations.
As of December 10, the account had more than 3,000 followers.⁴
This isn’t an isolated incident in Florida.
Another social media “personality” named John — who refused to give his last name — spent months in 2024 eating raw chicken daily for his 400,000 Instagram followers.⁵
He claimed he was conducting an “experiment” to prove eating raw meat wasn’t as dangerous as everyone thinks.
John’s raw chicken challenge stopped abruptly in July 2024 when he stopped posting — probably because he finally got that “tummy ache” he said would end his experiment.⁶
The raw meat eating trend apparently caught on with people desperate for social media attention.
But Houston picked the wrong place to film his grotesque content.
Palm Beach isn’t some backwater where you can butcher animals on public sidewalks without consequences.
Fire department had to hose down biohazard scene
The hog’s blood created what police called a “potential biohazard” on the public sidewalk.
Palm Beach Fire-Rescue had to bring a fire engine to wash down the entire area.
The cleanup cost taxpayers $346.⁷
Houston was arrested December 8 and charged with criminal mischief — a misdemeanor.
He posted $2,000 bond and was released the next day.⁸
Houston pleaded not guilty and is being represented by the Palm Beach County Public Defender’s Office.
On Instagram, Houston claimed he was arrested for “spilling a miniscule amount of blood” and that prosecutors wanted a $100,000 bond.
He wrote that he “lost my job for this” and complained about restrictions on his computer and social media access.
Houston also defended his raw meat consumption by claiming “this is a traditional African diet and the Spartans drank pig blood.”⁹
That’s quite a reach to justify creating a biohazard two miles from the President’s residence.
The real issue isn’t what Houston eats — it’s where he decided to butcher an animal for internet clicks.
Worth Avenue is one of the most exclusive shopping districts in America, often compared to Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive.
The street features high-end boutiques like Chanel, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton alongside fine dining establishments.
Tourists from around the world visit Palm Beach specifically to walk down Worth Avenue and take photos at the Clock Tower.
Houston turned this family-friendly landmark into a scene from a horror movie.
And for what? A few thousand followers and some shock value video content that got him arrested and unemployed.
This is what social media has reduced some people to — willing to create public health hazards and traumatize bystanders just to go viral.
The witness who called 911 thought she was watching someone kill a pet dog.
Imagine being a parent with young children at the beach, stopping by the Clock Tower for a family photo, and stumbling across Houston butchering an animal on the sidewalk.
Houston’s arrest shows Palm Beach isn’t going to tolerate this kind of behavior — especially not in one of the town’s most photographed locations.
The fact that this happened so close to Mar-a-Lago during Trump’s presidency makes it even more outrageous.
Palm Beach has zero patience for people who create public disturbances or health hazards in pursuit of social media fame.
Houston learned that lesson the hard way.
