Woke college students flew into a fit of rage over one Florida plan to put America first

Florida is not waiting for Congress to act to tackle the big problems.

The Sunshine State is ready to shut down a major scam.

And woke college students flew into a fit of rage over one Florida plan to put America first.

Florida bill would ban illegal aliens from some colleges

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis called for a special session of the State Legislature to address illegal immigration.

The special session is primarily focused on helping President Donald Trump carry out his immigration policies.

DeSantis proposed boosting funding to county sheriffs to help the Trump administration deport illegal aliens, enacting new criminal penalties on illegal immigration into Florida, and mandating local law enforcement cooperate with the federal government on mass deportations.

State Senator Randy Fine (R-FL) wants to add another item to the to-do list for the special session.

He filed a bill that would ban illegal aliens from attending some colleges and universities in Florida.

“Is it fair to allow an illegal immigrant to take a spot that could be taken by a Floridian or an American? I would argue no,” Fine said.

Fine’s bill would ban public colleges and universities that have an admissions rate of less than 85% from admitting illegal aliens.

American students would not lose out on a slot at a university that has competitive admission to an illegal alien.

The University of Florida, Florida State University, Florida International University, and the University of Central Florida would all be affected by the bill.

A Pew Research Study estimates that there are more than 1.1 million illegal aliens living in Florida.

In-state tuition for illegal aliens targeted

One of the other priorities DeSantis laid out for the special session was banning in-state tuition at public colleges and universities for illegal aliens.

The Florida Policy Institute estimated that there are roughly 6,500 illegal aliens in Florida who are receiving in-state tuition for their higher education.

Fine previously filed a bill that would ban illegal aliens from receiving in-state tuition at Florida’s 40 public colleges and universities.

He estimated the bill would save taxpayers about $45 million per year.

“President Trump has made clear it is time to close the border and stop giving illegal immigrants rewards for breaking the law,” Fine wrote on X. “While blue-collar Floridians are struggling to make ends meet, it is not fair to require them to pay $45 million a year to subsidize sweetheart deals for college degrees to those who should not even be here.”

“This is a no-brainer way to reduce the size of government and free up resources to help Floridians in need,” Fine added. “We must put Floridians first, and I am proud to do my part to rebalance the scales for our citizens.”

TheDream.US head Gaby Pacheco, a former illegal alien who went to college in Florida, called Fine’s bill “harmful” and “self-defeating.”

“We’re failing to see as Floridians the impact that is going to have when you’re removing people who have been here for 10, 15 years,” Pacheco stated. “This is their home.”

Florida can bring an end to a scam that costs taxpayers money and puts American students last.
