Now seven federal employees in Florida have lost their jobs for it – and the inspector general just confirmed every word was true.

Biden's Weaponized FEMA Left 11 Families in the Dark
Hurricane Milton had just torn through Florida.
Families were desperate.
And somewhere in the Lake Placid area, a FEMA supervisor named Marn'i Washington got on a group chat with her relief crew and told them to skip any house with a Trump sign.
They did it.
Eleven families – people whose homes had just been ripped apart by a Category 3 hurricane – were passed over by federal disaster workers because of a yard sign.
The DHS Office of Inspector General confirmed it all this week in a report titled "FEMA Disaster Response Crew Violated Law and Policy by Skipping Homes with Political Signage."
Investigators pulled thousands of canvassing records and found those eleven homes buried under bogus status codes – entries that said workers couldn't access the property when they had simply driven past it.
Washington was fired in November 2024 – the first to go.
Three more supervisors who failed to stop her were fired in March 2025.
And now three more employees who failed to meet DHS standards of conduct have just been terminated following this latest review.
Seven total. All gone.
The Cover-Up Was Almost as Bad as the Crime
Washington's story – that she skipped those houses over safety concerns, not politics – collapsed the moment federal investigators started pulling records.
The U.S. Office of Special Counsel filed a Hatch Act complaint against her and confirmed she repeatedly told subordinates not to visit properties with Trump campaign signs.
The inspector general found she "used her official authority or influence to interfere with or affect the results of an election."
That's not a rogue employee doing her job wrong.
That's a federal official using disaster relief as a political weapon eleven days before a presidential election.
And the evidence goes deeper.
A separate DHS Privacy Office probe found that political targeting at FEMA increased dramatically in election years – 68 incidents in 2024 alone, compared to just nine in 2023.

More than 80% of the flagged cases involved pro-gun or firearms messages.
These workers weren't just skipping Trump signs.
They were cataloguing the political identities of disaster survivors in direct violation of the Privacy Act of 1974.
Former Biden FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell called Washington a "rogue employee" and insisted the practice wasn't systemic.
Florida's attorney general sued Criswell personally for it.
Seven Fired, Door-to-Door Outreach Canceled
FEMA no longer sends workers to knock on doors after a disaster.
Under the Trump administration, aid workers operate from fixed locations selected with state and local officials – because the alternative was Biden-era supervisors deciding whose door deserved a knock based on yard signs.
DHS Secretary Mullin said it plainly: "The blatant abuse of power seen at FEMA under the Biden Administration was unacceptable, inhumane, and un-American."
He's right.
And what the mainstream press won't tell you is that this wasn't a rogue crew in one Florida county.

The targeting got worse every time an election approached – nine incidents in 2023, then sixty-eight in 2024.
These weren't people who lost their way.
They were Biden loyalists who saw disaster relief as an opportunity to punish the other side.
Hurricane Milton hit Florida on October 9, 2024. Eleven families sat in damaged homes waiting for federal help that never came – while the workers assigned to their street drove past and filed paperwork saying no one answered.
Seven people lost their government jobs because of it.
That's the right number.
