She called ICE agents Nazis and then punched a cop in the face to prove it.
Now a Florida judge just handed Jennifer Cruz the answer she earned.
And a Florida woman just learned a tough lesson about interfering with Donald Trump’s illegal immigration crackdown.
She Said She Was Ready to Fight and Meant It
Jennifer Susan Cruz was driving down Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville on January 13 when she spotted an ICE operation and decided she had something to say about it.
She pulled into a nearby parking lot and began yelling at a Florida Highway Patrol trooper from her vehicle – calling ICE agents "Nazis" and demanding to know if he supported them.
The trooper wasn't there for politics.
He ran a records check and found her driver's license had been suspended since June 17, 2025.
He called a tow truck.

That's when Cruz drove off.
Troopers boxed her vehicle in with patrol cars and ordered her out.
She exited – then announced she was "ready to go."
By “ready to go,” she meant that she was ready to fight.
When a trooper reached for her keys, Cruz punched him in the face with a closed fist.
She went after an ICE officer, a Customs and Border Protection agent, and the same trooper – landing blows on two of them and injuring the ICE officer's left hand.
A taser had no effect.
Officers eventually wrestled Cruz into the patrol vehicle, where she kept attacking the windows, the roof, and the in-car camera with her feet.
DHS Sent a Message to Every Protester Watching
Federal prosecutors charged Cruz with assaulting officers conducting an immigration operation – a felony carrying up to 20 years in prison.
She pleaded guilty in June.
U.S. District Judge Schlesinger sentenced her to 15 months in federal prison on October 20.
Trump's DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin didn't mince words about what that sentence means.

“This woman thought she could get away with viciously assaulting federal law enforcement officers who were in the middle of arresting illegal aliens,” sDHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said. “Now, after she assaulted an ICE officer, a CBP officer, and a Florida Highway Patrol trooper, she has been sentenced to 15 months in prison,” he continued. “Let this be a warning to anyone out there who thinks they have a right to interfere with immigration enforcement and attack our officers: don’t even think about it.”
“We will arrest you, and you will face the consequences,” he added. “I want to thank our partners at the Department of Justice and the state of Florida for their work in ensuring that justice was done here.”
U.S. Attorney Gregory Kehoe put it plainly: Cruz "caused physical harm to officers and placed the public at risk."
Suspended License, Nazi Insults, Federal Prison: Cruz Was Never the Victim Here
She wasn't a legal observer with a press credential.
She was a suspended-license driver who tailgated a marked patrol car, got caught, and decided the appropriate response was to punch a cop.
Under Trump's second term, the DOJ has prosecuted every assault on immigration officers – and the sentences are stacking up fast.
In Kansas, Diego Barron-Esquivel got the maximum – 20 years – after strangling an ICE officer with the agent's own badge cord.

In Massachusetts, a man who bit, hit, and head-butted ICE agents got eight months.
In Florida, a Guatemalan national who attacked officers during a deportation stop got a year and a day.
The Trump administration has reported a 1,150% increase in violence against ICE officers since enforcement operations ramped up – and the DOJ has made clear that every one of those assaults ends the same way Cruz's did.
Federal charges.
Federal prison.
It's a federal crime.
