Democrats shut down the Capitol and screamed into bullhorns when they couldn't get their way.
Now one of them is running for US Senate.
But socialist Democrat Senate candidate Angie Nixon just skipped out of her trespassing charges for less than a parking ticket.
She Got Arrested. Then She Got a Deal.
On May 15, Jacksonville state Rep. Angie Nixon planted herself on the floor of Gov. Ron DeSantis' office and refused to move for five hours.
Capitol Police warned her to leave when the building closed that evening.
She told them she'd wait for the governor.
She was arrested, hauled out, and charged with two misdemeanors – trespassing and resisting an officer without violence.

DeSantis called the whole thing "performative nonsense."
He was right.
Her attorney announced the settlement this week: Nixon would admit nothing, plead to nothing, and walk free after paying $250 and completing 15 hours of community service.
"She enters no guilty plea, makes no admission of guilt," her attorney said.
No consequences.
That's lawyer-speak for: she broke the law, disrupted a government office, defied police orders – and paid roughly what you'd spend on a dinner out.
This Is Who Democrats Are Running for Senate
The day before the sit-in, the House Rules and Ethics Committee formally reprimanded Nixon – the first time that body had issued a reprimand in 20 years – for blasting a mini-bullhorn on the House floor while her colleagues voted on a congressional redistricting map.
"What y'all are doing is illegal!" she screamed as the votes were cast.
In 2022, she sat on the floor of the House chamber chanting "Stop the Black attack" during another redistricting session.
This is a pattern, not an incident.
Nixon didn't lose the Democrat primary because Florida voters rejected her chaos.
She won it by 12 points over Alex Vindman last month.

So now the Democrats' Senate candidate is a lawmaker reprimanded by her own chamber, arrested for trespassing in the governor's office, and running on a platform of grievance and disruption.
She says "elected leaders being accessible to the people they serve is fundamental to a functioning democracy."
What she did not say: that she tried to force a meeting with the governor by occupying his office until police hauled her out.
Ashley Moody Is Going to Win This Race
Nixon's opponent is U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody, appointed by DeSantis in 2025 to replace Marco Rubio.
Moody is leading Nixon by 8 points in University of North Florida polling – 50% to 42%.
That poll was conducted before Nixon became the Democratic nominee.
Republican voter registration in Florida leads Democrats by 1.5 million voters.
Florida has not sent a Democrat to the U.S. Senate since Bill Nelson won his 2012 reelection – and Nelson himself lost that seat to Rick Scott six years later.
Democrats picked Nixon because she gives great protest footage and fires up a shrinking activist base.

Republicans picked Moody because she wins.
The Left will spend the next six weeks pretending Nixon's $250 fine was a civil rights moment.
Florida voters are going to walk into the ballot box in November and remember that their Senate candidate got arrested for trespassing and paid less to walk free than most people spend on groceries.
That's the choice Democrats made.
They own it.
