And comedian Bill Maher praised Ron DeSantis for one reason that Democrats will hate.
Comedian Bill Maher had former CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric as a guest on his Club Random podcast.
Couric claimed that anti-elitism and class resentment were driving voters to support former President Donald Trump.
“The socioeconomic disparities are a lot and class resentment is a lot and anti-intellectualism and elitism is what is driving many of these anti-establishment — which are Trump voters — so, I think that is a huge problem that we have to address,” Couric said.
But Maher pointed out that there was good reason to be skeptical of the elites.

Democrat Mayors proudly boasted about presiding over sanctuary cities until they were forced to face the consequences of it after President Joe Biden’s border crisis.
“Take something like the Sanctuary City hypocrisy,” Maher said. “These elite cities [think] ‘We’re the good people’…until they send the immigrants, actually, to their cities.”
He noted that New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) and other Democrat leaders started to sound like Republicans on illegal immigration after it came to their doorsteps.
“The things that came out of the mouths of the leaders of New York and Chicago and even San Francisco were pretty astounding. You would think it was Trump talking!” Maher exclaimed.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has been busing illegal aliens from his state to sanctuary cities like New York.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sparked a media meltdown when he had a group of 50 illegal aliens flown from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, an upscale resort island that’s a summer vacation spot for the elite.
Massachusetts is a sanctuary state, but the illegal aliens were quickly deported from the island to a National Guard base.
Couric said that she had a friend who lived in Florida who “loved” what DeSantis and Abbott did because the friend thought most politicians did not care about the damage illegal immigration is causing.
“It’s just fair,” Maher said.
The comedian added that DeSantis and Abbott took Democrats at their word that they supported sanctuary cities.
“They just called their bluff, very much the same way the Democrats called the bluff of the Republicans on the immigration bill,” Maher added.
