Biden’s campaign manager put it in writing – they were running to save democracy from Donald Trump.
Now the Democrat frontrunner for 2028 just called for scrapping the Electoral College and packing the Supreme Court.
Ron DeSantis saw it and said the quiet part out loud – and what he said should terrify every conservative in America.
The Radical Plan Mayor Pete Is Calling “Normal”
Pete Buttigieg went on the Diary of a CEOÂ podcast this week and laid out his vision for rewriting the American political system from scratch.
Abolish the Electoral College.
Pack the Supreme Court with new justices.
Strip states of their constitutional representation and hand power to the coasts.
“I still can’t believe that anybody considers this radical,” Buttigieg said.
He said it with a straight face.

This is the man polling in first or second place in every major 2028 Democrat primary survey – drawing 24 percent in Michigan, 21 percent in New Hampshire, leading in Massachusetts.
This is not a fringe candidate.
This is the Democrat frontrunner telling America he wants to demolish 235 years of constitutional order – and acting confused that anyone has a problem with it.
DeSantis Named What Democrats Won’t Say
Ron DeSantis put it plainly.
“This is fast becoming the moderate position on the left,” DeSantis wrote. “The true commies want to abolish the US Senate as well.”
He’s right.
Buttigieg isn’t some AOC-wing socialist.
He’s the guy Democrats pitch as their reasonable, articulate, electable alternative.
He served in the Navy Reserve.
He was a small-town mayor.
He ran for president in 2020.
And he just told America that the system where your vote counted the same as a New Yorker’s needs to be destroyed.
Think about what he’s actually proposing.

Under the Electoral College, Wyoming and California both matter.
Candidates have to build coalitions across the country.
They can’t win by running up the score in three cities and ignoring the rest of America.
Buttigieg doesn’t like that.
He wants the presidency decided by raw national popular vote – which means Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago pick the president and the rest of America watches.
Then there’s the Supreme Court.
FDR tried this exact scheme in 1937.
He had just won re-election 523 to 8 in the Electoral College – the biggest landslide in modern history.
He had a Democrat-controlled Congress. He had everything.
And his own party killed the plan.
The Senate Judiciary Committee called it “needless, futile, and utterly dangerous.”
The full Senate voted 70-20 to strip the court-packing provisions out of the bill.
Democrats in 1937 understood that packing the court was a power grab that would destroy the institution – even when they controlled it.
Today’s Democrats don’t have that restraint.
What This Campaign Is Actually About
Buttigieg isn’t making a principled argument about democratic theory.
He’s making a tactical argument about how Democrats can win permanently.
The Electoral College has denied Democrats the White House twice in 24 years – in 2000 and 2016.
The Supreme Court has ruled against their agenda on abortion, guns, affirmative action, and immigration.

So the plan is simple: change the rules until Democrats can’t lose.
He’s calling this a “democratic hygiene” project – cleaning up a system he says produces the wrong results.
This isn’t a reform agenda.
It’s a scheme to make the map, the court, and the constitutional structure permanently hostile to the half of America that doesn’t live in major coastal cities.
And the most important detail: Buttigieg is leading the 2028 primary field while running on this platform.
DeSantis is right that this is becoming the moderate position on the left.
The people who screamed about saving democracy just told you exactly what they plan to do with it.
