The Democratic Socialists of America just published a plan to abolish the US Senate.
Now Ron DeSantis is on Hannity telling frustrated Republicans exactly what happens if they stay home in November.
And what he said about the last two years of Trump's presidency is something every voter needs to hear before they make that choice.
The DSA Isn't Hiding What They Want
This isn't speculation or fearmongering.
The Democratic Socialists of America drafted a document this summer titled "Workers Deserve More" – and it calls explicitly for scrapping the U.S. Senate, replacing the president with a figure subordinate to Congress, and gutting the Supreme Court.
DSA co-chairman Ashik Siddiqu went on C-SPAN and said it out loud: "That's part of our platform, and we don't think that's extreme."
He actually said that.

The same platform calls for noncitizens to vote in American elections, an end to all deportations, amnesty for every illegal immigrant in the country, defunding the U.S. military, and replacing the Constitution with what they call a "new democratic constitution" built around a single federal legislature.
That's not a policy disagreement.
That's the destruction of the American system of government.
DeSantis Laid It Out Cold
DeSantis didn't mince words on Hannity.
"This is not your father's or grandfather's Democratic Party," he said. "This is a very militant party now, and they cannot be trusted with power."
He went straight at the Senate question – because Article V of the Constitution explicitly protects equal Senate representation for every state, and it's the one provision that cannot be touched through the amendment process, no matter how many votes you have.
The DSA doesn't propose amending the Constitution.
They propose replacing it.
"When you eliminate the Senate, the whole Constitution goes out the window," DeSantis said, "because that's the one thing that cannot be amended."
DeSantis called it what it is: ideas "rooted in neo-Marxism – ideas that have been tried throughout human history and rejected."
These Candidates Are Already Winning
This isn't a future threat.

DSA-backed candidates have already won 35 primary races in the 2026 cycle, with victories spread across Michigan, Colorado, Pennsylvania, New York, and beyond.
One of those winners – Darializa Avila Chevalier, who knocked off Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chairman Adriano Espaillat in upper Manhattan – helped found a campus group whose social media called for "death to America."
She won.
AOC and Rashida Tlaib are the DSA's two most prominent members in Congress, and the organization now has a published platform spelling out exactly what it intends to do with the power it keeps accumulating.
DeSantis Has Seen This Movie Before
DeSantis made the stakes concrete for anyone thinking about sitting this one out.
"If there are things you wish Republicans had done, they definitely won't get done if you put the DSA in charge," he said. "They would spend the last two years of President Trump's presidency just going after him and his administration – nonstop hearings from morning to night."
The first two years of Trump's first term produced historic results – tax cuts, deregulation, border enforcement, three Supreme Court justices.
The moment Democrats took the House in 2018, it became two years of investigations, impeachments, and obstruction.

Now the same party has been taken over by people who want to abolish the Senate and defund the military.
A protest vote in November doesn't punish the Republican Party.
It hands the keys to people who have written down – in a published platform – exactly how they plan to dismantle the country you grew up in.
DeSantis put it plainly: they "reject the founding principles that have stood the test of time."
Read their platform.
They said it themselves.
