A Florida teacher spent months turning a 13-year-old into her classroom's punching bag for being a conservative.
Now Florida's top law enforcement officer just stepped in – and this teacher is facing the end of her career.
Now a young boy is waiting to find out if the adults in charge will actually do something about it.
What the AG's Letter Revealed
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier sent a formal letter to Sarasota County School Superintendent Terry Connor and the school board, laying out a pattern of abuse against a single eighth-grade student at Pine View School.
According to Uthmeier's letter, a Pine View history teacher repeatedly dragged political topics into class.
The student's parents told the teacher directly that they "expressly forbid" their son from participating in her political discussions.

She ignored them and made it worse.
She began using the boy as her personal prop, singling him out as the "conservative perspective" whenever she wanted a political sparring partner.
Then she labeled him a "misogynist" in front of his classmates.
She also openly questioned the "suitability and influence" of the student's father – attacking his family in a room full of his peers.
This wasn't a one-time slip.
The letter notes that multiple HR investigations involving this teacher have already been initiated by other parents.
Uthmeier's Demand Is Clear
Uthmeier didn't mince words.
He told the district that this teacher – if the allegations hold up – broke Florida law, violated school board policy, and abandoned every ethical obligation an educator has to her students.
He called for her immediate dismissal.
He also called for the revocation of her educator certificate – meaning she couldn't just move to another district and do this again to someone else's kid.
The district has until October 1 to respond.
Uthmeier is a Trump-endorsed attorney general who built his reputation on taking on fights other politicians avoided.

Trump personally called him "an America First Warrior" and credited him with creating "Alligator Alcatraz," the detention facility that became a symbol of serious immigration enforcement.
This isn't his first letter to a Florida school district about a teacher targeting a conservative student.
Last summer, Uthmeier sent a nearly identical letter to Alachua County after a teacher gave a student a "Most Likely to Become a Dictator" award in front of the class – because of his conservative views.
He wrote then: "If these facts bear out, then this teacher should be immediately terminated and never allowed to teach again in Florida."
Same pattern. Different counties.
This Is Happening Everywhere
The Sarasota case isn't a fluke – it's part of a national wave of left-wing teachers who decided their classrooms were political re-education zones after Trump won in 2024.
A Georgia history teacher spent at least 25 minutes every class period pushing her personal far-left views, openly told students she "is not going to vote for the orange man," and silenced conservative students who pushed back.
The ACLJ sent a legal demand letter to that school in February 2025.
In Wisconsin, a teacher required students to write their names on color-coded squares identifying their party affiliation and display them publicly in the school hallway – leaving conservative students exposed to peer targeting.
In Seminole County, Florida, a biology teacher told students that non-white kids would "be in trouble" under Trump and warned them about deportations.
She was suspended pending investigation.

None of these teachers were worried about consequences – until someone with actual power showed up.
The Superintendent Has Ten Days to Prove He Means It
Superintendent Terry Connor issued a statement calling the allegations serious and promising accountability.
He said every student "deserves a classroom where they feel safe, respected, and free to learn" and that "no student should face harassment, humiliation, or retaliation because of their beliefs."
Those are exactly the right words.
Uthmeier gave them until October 1 – and he's watching.
An eighth-grade boy was labeled a misogynist by an adult authority figure in a room full of his classmates, all because his parents raised him to think for himself.
If that teacher still has a job on October 2, Floridians will know exactly what those words were worth.
