Tom Homan Silenced a Florida Socialist With Five Words She Never Saw Coming

Sep 1, 2026

Florida socialist Angie Nixon told a podcast ICE would shoot and kill black Americans.

Now she's the Democrat nominee for the U.S. Senate.

And Tom Homan just hit socialist Angie Nixon with five words she never saw coming.

Nixon's Claim Was More Than Ridiculous

This wasn't a policy disagreement.

This was a Senate candidate telling Americans that the federal agents protecting their communities are a "weaponized paramilitary force designed to terrorize" black people.

Nixon made the remarks on the South Dade NAACP's Empowerment Zone Podcast on August 11th, warning that ICE agents can't "tell the difference between" black Americans and immigrants from Jamaica or Nigeria.

"They are going to racially profile us," Nixon said, "and they are going to escalate things, and they are going to shoot and kill us."

She also called ICE agents "THUGS" and "kidnappers."

She compared detention facilities to "modern-day concentration camps."

She compared ICE officers themselves to "modern-day slave catchers."

The Department of Homeland Security called her comments "disgusting, reckless and categorically FALSE."

Homan had a blunter answer.

"That's a ridiculous statement," he said on Fox News. "We don't racially profile. Everybody we talk to, we have reasonable suspicion. And to arrest them, we need probable cause. That's what the law says. And that's what we do."

Then came the five words.

"I'm actually an equal opportunity deporter,” he said. “I deported people to 180 countries last year. I don't care if you're from Asia, you're from Europe, or you're from other countries. If you're in the country illegally, you will be deported – regardless of the color of your skin."

Florida Just Nominated the 2018 Playbook in 2026

The Abolish ICE movement had its moment eight years ago.

AOC ran on it.

Kirsten Gillibrand jumped on board.

Bernie Sanders called ICE a "deportation and detention machine."

Then Democrats saw what voters thought of that – and dropped it fast.

Nixon picked it back up and cranked the volume to 11.

She's a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America who beat Alex Vindman in the Florida Democrat primary despite being outspent roughly 16-to-1.

Her platform reads like a DSA wish list: abolish ICE, Medicare for All, free childcare, a national rent freeze, a $25 minimum wage.

She's not running to represent Florida – she's running to transform it.

And she chose to open her general election campaign by telling black Floridians that ICE agents would shoot them.

Homan addressed exactly why dangerous street arrests happen in the first place – and it has nothing to do with race.

Sanctuary cities.

When local governments refuse to release criminals to ICE while they're still behind bars, agents have to track them down in the community instead.

Homan pointed directly to Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, shot and killed in Houston in July when agents had to arrest him in a neighborhood rather than a jail.

"What sanctuary cities do is not only give sanctuary to criminals," Homan said, "it makes the community less safe because they're releasing public safety threats back into the public."

Nixon wants more of them.

Obama Gave Him an Award for This. Now Democrats Call Him a Racist.

Under Obama, Homan ran deportation operations so effectively the administration honored him for it.

The man hasn't changed.

The enforcement standards haven't changed.

The only thing that changed is that enforcing immigration law became politically inconvenient for the left – so now they call him a racist.

That's the tell.

The racial profiling accusation isn't a policy argument.

It's a weapon – designed to make ICE agents stand down in black communities and turn enforcement into political poison.

Nixon knows it. The DSA knows it.

The whole Abolish ICE crowd knows it.

The law is straightforward.

ICE doesn't ask what country someone came from or what color they are.

It asks one question: are you here legally?

Nixon's answer is to burn the agency down and rebuild it under "civilian oversight" – the same ideology that defunded police departments across America and then blamed Republicans when violent crime exploded.

Florida voters get to decide in November whether they want Tom Homan's ICE or Angie Nixon's "moral choice."

That's not even close.
