James Uthmeier Just Said Three Words That Sent Child Predators Across Florida Running for Cover

Oct 18, 2026

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier just put three more child predators away for a combined 80 years.

Those three convictions come on top of a scoreboard Uthmeier's office has been running since February 2025 – and the total will make your jaw drop.

What James Uthmeier said when he announced those sentences is the reason other attorneys general in this country should be embarrassed to show their faces.

Three Counties, Three Predators, No Daylight

The cases came out of Lee, Glades, and Okeechobee counties – not exactly Florida's biggest cities.

That's the point.

FDLE and NCMEC CyberTips didn't just sweep through Miami or Orlando.

They went after peer-to-peer file-sharing networks statewide, traced the IP addresses, and executed the search warrants – and when agents walked into those homes, every single device told the same story.

Robert Caesar Carrion got 28 years – 25 counts of possession.

William Leroy Johnson Jr. got 27 years – 15 counts, pled guilty.

Wayne Adams got 24.5 years – 14 counts, entered a no-contest plea.

Three men who will be old or dead before they breathe free air again.

"I can't think of anything more evil than the sexual abuse of a child," Uthmeier said at the press conference, "and trading, purchasing, and soliciting in this vile material perpetuates that abuse."

“We’re throwing the book at these predators. Our statewide prosecutors have already secured over 800 years in prison sentences for crimes against children. Predators should know that if they come after children, they will lose your freedom,” he added.

He didn't hedge.

He didn't say "alleged" or "accused."

He called it evil – because it is – and then his office proved it in court.

FDLE Commissioner Larry Keefe laid out the assembly line: "FDLE finds them, the Attorney General convicts them, and the Department of Corrections keeps them."

"Florida's children are safer today because of Attorney General Uthmeier and the men and women of FDLE," Keefe said.  "We lead the charge against child exploitation. We identify predators and build the cases that put them away.”

Two more predators – Eduardo Antonio Arango Ruiz and Chandler Christian Jones – are already convicted and waiting on sentencing dates.

A sixth man, Jeffery Howard Oppold, is charged and heading to prosecution next.

The pipeline doesn't stop.

“As State Attorney, I know firsthand the devastating effects that child exploitation has on victims, their families and our communities,” State Attorney for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit Amira Fox said. “I am proud to work hand in hand with Attorney General James Uthmeier and his office in combatting and prosecuting these despicable crimes.”

Over 800 Years in Prison and Other AGs Still Have Excuses

These three predators aren't a one-off.

They're entries on a scoreboard that reads like a war crimes tribunal.

Since Uthmeier took office in February 2025, Florida has arrested more than 2,000 people accused of preying on children – at a rate four times higher than the previous administration's monthly pace.

Over 800 years in total prison sentences, secured and counting.

Every other state AG in America has access to the same NCMEC CyberTips that cracked these cases.

They get the same reports.

They have the same search warrant authority.

Florida turned those tips into 2,000 arrests and 800 years of prison sentences.

Other states turned them into press releases about "addressing systemic concerns."

That's not a resource problem.

That's a choice – and every attorney general making that choice owns every predator still operating in their state.

Uthmeier said it plainly: "Predators should know that if they come after children, they will lose your freedom."

Not "face consequences."

Not "be subject to legal action."

Lose your freedom.

Three men in Lee, Glades, and Okeechobee counties just found out he meant it.
