Donald Trump was floored to find Ron DeSantis’ name at the top of this one new poll

Feb 22, 2024

November is lining up to be a rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

But whose name will be on the ticket with Donald Trump remains a mystery.

And Donald Trump was floored to find Ron DeSantis’ name at the top of this one new poll.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis entered the 2024 Presidential race as the Republican who posed the biggest threat to taking the nomination away from Donald Trump.

DeSantis was wildly popular with Republican voters nationwide for his pro-freedom pandemic policies and his war against the Left’s woke ideology.

But DeSantis never gained any traction in the polls.

After losing to Donald Trump by 30 points in Iowa, DeSantis dropped out of the race before the New Hampshire Primary and endorsed the former President.

“It’s clear to me that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance,” DeSantis said during his dropping out announcement. “I signed a pledge to support the Republican nominee and I will honor that pledge,” he continued. “He has my endorsement because we can’t go back to the old Republican guard of yesteryear, a repackaged form of warmed-over corporatism that Nikki Haley represents.”

Even though DeSantis endorsed Trump, he spent the past eight months attacking the former President’s record in the White House.

DeSantis ripped Trump for his handling of the pandemic, especially for elevating Dr. Fauci to power, for his overspending, and for not following through on his promise to build the wall.

Of course, Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis hold similar positions on America First issues, which helps explain the results of a shocking new Presidential poll.

I&I/TIPP recently conducted a national online poll to find out who Republican voters wanted to see as Donald Trump’s running mate.

Respondents were given a choice between 14 potential candidates.

And the I&I/TIPP poll showed voters want to see Donald Trump select Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a running mate.

Vivek Ramaswamy took second and RINO Nikki Haley came in third.

“It wasn’t very close,” the latest I&I/TIPP’s national online poll stated. “DeSantis received 34% of the total votes cast on both questions, compared to 24% for Haley, 21% for Ramaswamy, 19% for [Sen. Tim] Scott, 17% for [Ben] Carson, 12% for TV personality and commentator Tucker Carlson and 10% for South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.”

There is virtually zero chance that Trump selects Ron DeSantis as a Vice Presidential running mate.

Trump previously said he already knew who he would select.

During an interview in January with Fox News Channel’s Brett Baier, Trump told him that “people won’t be that surprised” by his Vice Presidential selection.

But at least one poll showed Republican voters want to see a Trump/DeSantis 2024 ticket.
