They Owned This State and Handed It Back
In 2016, Democrats led Florida's voter rolls by 327,000.
They had the numbers. They had the momentum.
They had a swing state.
By 2020, that lead had collapsed to 134,000.
Republicans crossed over in 2021 and never looked back.
By 2022, the GOP led by 306,000.

By the 2024 election, it was 1.08 million.
Today it sits at 1,541,862.
Republicans added 38,545 active registrations in July alone.
Democrats added 24,463.
They can't keep pace with a single month of Republican growth.

Over a million net migrants poured into Florida since 2020 – from California, New York, Illinois, and every other state where Democrats had decades to prove their ideas work.
Those people left.
And when they got to Florida, they registered as Republicans.
Republicans now lead in 59 of Florida's 67 counties.
Since 2025, Republicans have gained roughly 33,000 voters while Democrats have lost about 17,000.
Democrats now hold barely 30 percent of active voter registrations in a state their party once led.
Fried is running on "affordability" this cycle.

The voters she needs to win fled the most "progressive" states in America specifically because Democrats made housing, taxes, and cost of living unaffordable.
They didn't move to Florida to try it again.
“Democrats are running on empty in Florida,” said NRCC spokesperson Maureen O’Toole. “Voters trust Republicans to lower costs, secure the border, protect taxpayers, and restore common sense while Democrats continue offering the same failed agenda that’s pushing voters away.”

He heads into a governor's race where the structural math has never looked better for Republicans.
Trump carried Florida by 13.1 points in 2024 – with a registration gap of 1.08 million.
That gap is now 1.54 million.

Florida Democrats haven't won the governor's office since 1994.
That's not a losing streak.
That's a verdict.

Fried says she'll break the Republican supermajority in Tallahassee this November.
She's working against a registration advantage that grows by five figures every month, in a state where her party's best argument – that Democrat policies make life better – gets tested every time a U-Haul pulls out of California.
The August 18 primary is two weeks away.
The number that matters is already on the board: 1,541,862.
Democrats built that gap themselves.
