Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is one of the brightest stars in the Republican Party.
His Presidential bid didn’t turn out like he or his supporters expected.
But Ron DeSantis dropped one clue that it could be game on for 2028.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came into the Republican Presidential Primary with big expectations after he became a rising political star for successfully navigating the pandemic.
The Republican base rallied around former President Donald Trump after Democrats began targeting him with a series of politically motivated criminal indictments.
The speculation grew about what was next for the Florida governor after he suspended his Presidential campaign following a second-place finish in the Iowa caucus.
DeSantis has made it clear that he’s not leaving the spotlight after exiting the Presidential race.
He’s establishing himself as a leader in the Republican Party by weighing on the hot-button issues of the day on social media.
In a series of videos that were posted on X, formerly Twitter, he made the case that Texas securing its border from illegal immigration was Constitutional and slammed a phony bipartisan border security deal being negotiated behind closed doors by RINOs in the Senate and Democrats.
He also released a widely praised video with his young son Mason who correctly predicted that this year’s Super Bowl matchup would be the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.
The video showed the human side of DeSantis that many critics said he didn’t show on the campaign trail.
Axios reported that this social media presence could be a sign that he’s gearing up to make another run for the White House in 2028.
“Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ behavior since suspending his Presidential campaign a week ago has the hallmarks of a candidate who has learned from his mistakes — and is eyeing a course correction for a potential round two,” Axios reported. “Republicans have privately and publicly marveled at how much more comfortable and effective DeSantis has appeared in his recent communications.”
More of DeSantis’ personality comes through in the videos now that he’s out of the Presidential race.
His 2024 campaign didn’t go as planned, but at 45 years old, he still has a long political career ahead of him.
He’s turned his attention back to the job of running Florida on a day-to-day basis as governor, but the videos show he still has his eye on the national picture.
DeSantis hasn’t ruled out running for President again, telling radio show host Steve Deace that he will see what the future holds.
Developing a new social media strategy could be the start of laying the groundwork for another Presidential campaign in 2028.
