It finally happened.
President Joe Biden and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stood face to face.
But Ron DeSantis never expected to hear these seven words come out of Joe Biden’s mouth.
Joe Biden despises Ron DeSantis and views him as a top political enemy.
DeSantis infuriated Biden during the pandemic when he refused to enforce Fauci’s lockdown orders, mask mandates, and vaccine passports.
Biden was willing to put his hatred of DeSantis over the safety of the people when he cut off shipments of monoclonal antibodies to Florida.
Ever since the pandemic, Joe Biden and members of his administration have viciously attacked and smeared Ron DeSantis.
Joe Biden repeatedly attacked DeSantis by name when he signed the Parental Rights in Education Bill into law.
When Hurricane Ian hit Florida last week, DeSantis was concerned that Joe Biden would play politics with federal funds given how he denied federal assistance to two Florida counties that were torn apart by destructive tornadoes last year.
The recovery efforts in southwest Florida are still underway as the Sunshine State bounces back from the destruction caused by the Category 4 storm that roared across the state last week.
But on Wednesday, President Joe Biden traveled to Florida with his wife, Jill, to tour the Sunshine State with Ron DeSantis and get a first-hand view of the damage.
During a news conference in Fort Myers, Joe Biden promised DeSantis that the federal government would support the recovery efforts in Florida.
But then Joe Biden put jaws on the floor when he showered Ron DeSantis with praise for the “remarkable” response to Ian.
“What the Governor’s done is pretty remarkable,” Biden said when asked about DeSantis’ response to the storm. “I think he’s done a good job.”
Biden acknowledged the fact that he and DeSantis are political enemies, but said he was putting that aside during this time of crisis.
“We have very different political philosophies . . . but we worked hand in glove,” Biden said. “On things related to dealing with this crisis, we’ve been completely in lockstep,” he continued, before adding that “there’s been no difference.”
DeSantis thanked Joe Biden for immediately signing his disaster declaration and “basically setting off the massive mobilization” currently underway in the state.
But DeSantis did manage to get one small jab in at the Left when he introduced Joe Biden.
“We are cutting through bureaucracy,” DeSantis said. “We are cutting through red tape,” he continued, before adding “and that’s from local government, state government, all the way up to the President.”
