A Florida mother just confirmed – in her own words – that she slept with her son on multiple occasions.
Deputies had only come to the house because she called them for help.
What happened next is the kind of story that makes you realize how badly America needs people like Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
The Call That Changed Everything
Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic violence report.
The caller was 46-year-old Christina Clemens.
She told officers her 22-year-old son, Shane Clemens, had battered her at their home.
That part was disturbing enough.
Then Shane decided to get even.
Out of spite, he told officers something nobody in that room was prepared to hear.

He said he and his mother had been having sexual intercourse since he was 18 years old.
Deputies asked Christina if her son's claim had any merit.
She confirmed it.
Her exact words – reported directly by Sheriff Judd – were that she and her son had sex "only about 100 times."
Only about 100 times.
She said it like that was supposed to make it better.
Grady Judd Called It What It Is
Sheriff Judd did not dress it up.
"What else can you say?" Judd told WPEC. "That's nasty. And it's illegal."
That is Grady Judd in a nutshell.
Judd has served as Polk County Sheriff since 2005, was appointed by President Trump to the Coordinating Council on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and was re-elected with over 80% of the vote in 2024 – his sixth term.
He didn't hedge.
He arrested them both.

Deputies also interviewed Christina's husband during the investigation.
He had no idea the relationship was happening – but Judd noted the husband had grown uneasy watching the two disappear into the master bedroom together and lock the door behind them.
He suspected something was wrong.
He just never imagined what it actually was.
What Florida Law Says – and What Happens Next
Under Florida Statute 826.04, incest is a third-degree felony.
Both Christina and Shane Clemens have been charged with incest.
Christina was also charged with adultery – a separate crime under Florida law.
If convicted, each faces up to five years in prison, a $5,000 fine, and lifetime registration as a sex offender.
Lifetime.
They will carry a sex offender designation on their driver's license and report that status to every employer, landlord, and school they encounter for the rest of their lives.
That is what Grady Judd's office delivered when it answered what looked like a routine domestic dispute call.

They never do.
They showed up for a domestic disturbance and uncovered something far worse – because that is what patrol deputies do every shift, in every county, in every state in this country.
The people who want to cut law enforcement funding, gut police departments, and make it harder to recruit officers – they are not just making a political argument.
They are deciding which calls do not get answered.
They are deciding which families do not get Grady Judd.
