A quick bathroom stop at a Jersey Mike’s sandwich shop led to one woman’s rescue from a nightmare situation.
What seemed like a routine bathroom break turned into a desperate cry for help.
And a Florida woman’s bathroom note exposed this pro wrestler’s disturbing secret.
Desperate note left in Jersey Mike’s bathroom leads to rescue
An employee at a Jersey Mike’s in Navarre, Florida made a shocking discovery in the store’s bathroom on May 27, 2025.
What initially looked like trash turned out to be a desperate plea for help from a woman being held against her will.
“Please help me get home! HELP! Get me before May 30th!” the note, which included the woman’s name, address, and details about a vehicle at the residence where she was being held captive, read.
The employee, identified by Florida news outlet WEAR as Eleanor Coffee, immediately alerted her manager and contacted authorities.
“This case represents the strength of coordinated work by my staff and the bravery of the victim,” Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said in a statement. “Thanks to her courage and the deputies’ swift actions, she is now safe and receiving care.”
Pro wrestler arrested on kidnapping charges
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office quickly identified 34-year-old Jordan Williams as the suspect through surveillance footage, prior case records, and witness interviews.
Williams, who wrestles in the independent circuit under the name “Jayden Steele,” has a documented history of domestic violence with the victim.
According to law enforcement, Williams had previously been arrested in January 2024 for alleged domestic violence against the same woman.
When deputies arrived at the residence listed in the note, they discovered the woman with visible injuries, including a black eye and a possible broken arm.
She confirmed that she had authored the note and detailed a horrific pattern of abuse, including repeated assaults, threats with weapons, and being held in isolation for several months.
Jersey Mike’s visit provided rare opportunity for escape
Surveillance footage from Jersey Mike’s revealed that Williams had brought the woman to the restaurant under the guise of picking up DoorDash orders.
This rare outing provided the victim with her only opportunity to seek help.
The woman walked directly to the bathroom where she hastily wrote the note that would lead to her rescue, just 20 minutes before the couple left the establishment.
The victim’s mother later told investigators that her daughter suffers from bipolar disorder and a brain tumor, making her particularly vulnerable to Williams’ control.
Her ex-husband reported that Williams had previously held her captive and threatened to kill his children and family members.
Multiple felony charges filed against Williams
Williams faces multiple serious charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping/false imprisonment, battery, battery by touch or strike, and battery by strangulation.
During his first court appearance on Thursday, a judge denied Williams bond, meaning he will remain in jail until his trial.
According to court records reviewed by Law & Crime, Williams’ arraignment is scheduled for June 19, with a preliminary hearing set for June 2.
After being arrested and read his rights, Williams denied ever striking the woman, despite photographic evidence of her injuries provided to law enforcement.
Domestic violence remains a nationwide crisis
The National Domestic Violence Hotline states on its website: “Relationship abuse is ugly, even (and especially) when it comes from the people we love. The more informed we keep ourselves and others, the more prepared we’ll be to recognize and stop abuse when it happens.”
This case highlights the importance of community vigilance and quick action when suspecting domestic abuse.
Florida residents experiencing abuse or who know someone experiencing abuse can contact the Florida Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-500-1119.
The National Domestic Violence Hotline is also available 24/7 at 1-800-799-7233.
Sheriff Johnson emphasized that the victim is now safe and receiving proper medical care for her injuries, which included suspected broken bones and other trauma.
A victim advocate team responded to assist the woman with her immediate needs and recovery process.
