David Jolly spent eight years on MSNBC telling anyone who would listen that Ron DeSantis was a monster.
Now he wants Florida's governorship – and he just handed conservatives the clearest evidence yet of what a Jolly governorship would actually mean.
At a Gen Z Town Hall in late July, Jolly looked into the camera and said something no Florida Democrat has ever been reckless enough to say out loud.
The Exact Words Jolly Wants You to Forget
"I want to stand up on election night and say to the world on behalf of the state that launched culture wars, we apologize."
Read that again.
Jolly isn't apologizing for traffic on I-4 or the insurance market.
He's apologizing for Florida protecting children from irreversible gender surgeries.

He's apologizing for Florida deporting criminal illegal aliens instead of handing them driver's licenses.
He's apologizing for Florida parents having the right to know what their kids are being taught in school.
That is what "culture wars" means when a Democrat uses the word.
Byron Donalds understood immediately.
"Ron DeSantis defended American culture and Western civilization from the radical left," Donalds said on Breitbart News Saturday. "And so David Jolly wants to apologize for that."
The Trojan Horse Just Opened Its Mouth
Jolly has been running the oldest con in Florida Democratic politics: the reasonable former Republican who has evolved.
Charlie Crist ran that play in 2022.
DeSantis beat him by 19 points.
The problem with the Trojan horse strategy is that eventually the horse opens its mouth – and when Jolly opened his, out came a promise to apologize to the entire world for every policy DeSantis built to protect Florida families.
Donalds called it exactly what it is.
"He's a true radical," Donalds said. "This is somebody who still supports the transing of kids."
The donor numbers back that up.

Jolly has raised roughly $1 million since entering the race.
Donalds – endorsed by President Trump – has raised more than $10.2 million.
Florida Republicans hold a 1.2 million voter registration edge.
No Democrat has won the Florida governor's mansion since 1994.
The Cook Political Report rates this race Solid Republican.
And yet Jolly spent his energy at a virtual Gen Z Town Hall pledging to tell the world Florida is sorry for not letting boys use girls' bathrooms.
His Running Mate Makes It Worse
Jolly didn't just pick any Democrat for his ticket.
He picked Gwen Graham – a former Biden Education Department official who publicly argued that illegal aliens should have driver's licenses "for the safety of all Floridians."
Read that framing carefully.
Not "it's the right thing to do."
Not "it's compassionate."
For your safety, Floridians, we need to put illegal aliens behind the wheel with a government-issued ID.
During Graham's time inside Biden's Education Department, the administration pushed federal guidance forcing schools to let boys into girls' bathrooms based on "gender identity."
That is the ticket asking Florida to apologize.
Donalds was blunt about what's at stake.
"We protect the puberty of kids in our state," he said, "and as Florida's next governor, we are going to continue to protect their puberty from the radical, crazy left."

That isn't a talking point.
That is what this election is actually about.
Here's what nobody in the national media will tell you: this is the same play Democrats have run across America for years, and it has never once worked.
Terry McAuliffe told Virginia parents they had no business telling schools what to teach their kids.
Virginia handed Republicans the governorship.
Democrats in state after state keep betting that normal Americans will eventually come around – that they'll apologize their way into office, and voters will reward the contrition.
They won't.
Florida has sent Republicans to the governor's mansion for over 30 years, and a party switcher who wants to say sorry to the world for protecting children isn't changing that.
One candidate thinks Florida should be ashamed of itself.
The other thinks Florida got it exactly right – and intends to keep it that way.
