Now Florida is coming for the documents he refused to hand over to Congress.
Fauci's Pandemic Diary Put His Silence in Context
Rand Paul released more than 1,000 pages of Fauci's private pandemic diary last month – and what they showed was damning.
By January 31, 2020, Fauci had been told by top virologists that the virus's furin cleavage site raised real doubts about a natural origin, with roughly half the scientists on that call believing it looked "constructed."
He spent the next two years publicly dismissing the lab-leak theory as a fringe conspiracy.
That's a bureaucrat protecting a narrative, not a scientist weighing evidence.

The diary also revealed Fauci's obsession with his own celebrity.
According to records released by Sen. Paul, NIH's second-in-command was personally managing Fauci's awards pipeline during the pandemic – using taxpayer-funded staff to write the nominations themselves.
One award alone paid him approximately $900,000 – the Dan David Prize from Tel Aviv University.
This was happening while he was on television every night telling you your small business needed to close.
Florida Is Asking the Question Washington Won't
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier issued the subpoena Wednesday and made the legal theory plain.
"Government officials have a certain level of immunity in their official capacities," Uthmeier said. "But if Fauci personally profited off of the 'guidance' he issued, that very well could have broken Florida law."
The subpoena covers six years of records – January 2020 through August 2026 – and goes after the full picture of Fauci's enrichment: the Dan David Prize, his Penguin Random House memoir deal, award applications, board positions, private foundation partnerships, and his direct communications with Florida businesses about masking, school closures, and vaccine mandates.

Uthmeier didn't leave the motive in question.
"Fauci's diary focused more on self-promotion than the legitimate safety concerns from the mRNA vaccines," he said. "While Fauci was pushing for book deals, awards, and fortune and fame, Floridians were being deceived and harmed by his misrepresentations."
The investigation is currently civil – but Uthmeier was explicit: "Nothing is off the table."
The attorneys general of West Virginia and Louisiana are both backing Florida's action.
What 111 Means
One week before Florida's subpoena landed, Fauci sat before Rand Paul's Senate committee and invoked the Fifth Amendment 111 times.
One hundred and eleven times.
Josh Hawley asked him what day of the week it was.
Fauci invoked the Fifth.
Uthmeier connected the obvious dots on Fox News: "When you get a presidential blanket pardon, that should provide immunity where you can talk. It shows me he's got something to hide."
Biden's pardon covered Fauci's federal exposure through January 19, 2025.
It does not cover state law violations.
It does not cover conduct after that date.

And legal analysts confirm the courts have not settled whether a pardoned witness can still invoke the Fifth Amendment before Congress.
Paul is forcing a contempt vote.
The Justice Department has a criminal referral on its desk.
And now Florida has a subpoena with an August 31 deadline.
The man who said he represented science just burned every remaining avenue for hiding behind it.
