A DeSantis official demolished a journalist for this disgusting attack on parental rights

Mar 26, 2024

Ron DeSantis is leading the charge to return control to parents over their kids’ education.

The Left is raging over losing its dominance over government schools.

And a DeSantis official demolished a journalist for this disgusting attack on parental rights.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis created a political firestorm when he signed his landmark Parental Rights in Education bill in 2022, which outlawed teaching students in grades K-3 about sexual orientation or radical gender ideologies.

This common-sense law subjected him to relentless attacks from Democrats, the media, and even Disney.

Left-wing activist posing as journalist smears parental rights

The Left, when they know they are losing the argument, often resorts to lobbing false accusations of fascism and smearing their political opponents as Nazis.

Washington, D.C. insider outlet Axios sunk to an unthinkable new low when they used a Holocaust historian to make the absurd claim that DeSantis’ parental rights law is something out of Nazi Germany.

“They [Nazis] ramped up a propaganda campaign, banning publications by and about LGBTQ+ people and telling Germans the ‘homosexual lifestyle’ posed a danger to their children and the country’s values,” Axios reported.

“Sound familiar?” Historian Jake Newsome asked an audience at the Florida Holocaust Museum.

The insinuation throughout the article is that Florida’s parental rights law and other attempts to push back against LGBTQ indoctrination in the classroom are ripped straight out of the Nazi playbook.

The author went on to note that “100,000 queer people” were arrested by the Nazis, implying that is what giving parents control over their kids’ education is going to create.

Team DeSantis fires back at hit piece

DeSantis Communications Director Bryan Griffin blasted the “journo-activist” who wrote the Axios hit piece.

“[Axios] actually published a story amplifying and pushing the perspective of an activist who compared removing sexual content and radical gender identity from K-3rd grade public school classrooms with Nazi Germany,” Griffin said. “Dishonest media activism at its very worst.”

DeSantis Press Secretary Jeremy Redfern called the piece “propaganda” that disrespected the Holocaust.

“This isn’t news. This is propaganda, and it has nothing to do with the Parental Rights in Education Act,” Redfern. “Equating parental rights with the Holocaust is absurd and disrespectful.”

The simple act of preventing kindergarteners from being taught that they could change their gender sparked one of the biggest meltdowns by the Left in recent memory.

The law was eventually expanded to all grades K-12 and withstood court challenges from activists.

The media never misses an opportunity to embarrass themselves and their profession by attacking parental rights.
