Democrats spent five years telling America that political violence was a Republican problem.
But the facts tell a different story.
And a Florida Democrat just got arrested for threatening to cut fellow Democrats' heads off over a Senate race.
A Democrat Candidate Who Threatened to Behead Other Democrats
Elijah Manley, 27, ran for Congress in Florida's 20th District this past August – the same race where he publicly declared that a white Democrat had no business representing a black district.
He lost badly, finishing third with 14 percent of the vote.
Then, on August 20, Manley went to Facebook.
He posted a threat directed at fellow Democrats who weren't getting behind Senate nominee Angie Nixon.
"Every democrat needs to get behind the democratic nominee for Senate," he wrote. "Anybody not doing that, I promise you I'm going to cut your f—ing head off."
That wasn't a slip of the tongue.
That was typed out, posted publicly, and left up for over an hour before disappearing.
In a second post, Manley told Nixon's critics he would "make your life a living hell to the very end."
In a third, he threatened to "burn y'all mf castle to the ground and anyone else in my way."
A fourth post declared, "This is the type of shii that will make me snap."
Broward Sheriff's investigators picked up screenshots from a complainant the following morning.
At least two people told deputies they feared for their safety.
One woman – whose name was redacted from the affidavit – said the posts "placed her in fear," and that Manley's Facebook account had previously been used from her own home during campaign fundraising.
Last week, Manley was booked into the Broward County Jail on two counts of making written threats to kill or injure someone.
Both counts are second-degree felonies under Florida law – carrying up to 15 years in prison each.
He posted a $4,000 bond and walked out Saturday, October 17.
The First Amendment Defense Nobody Believes
Manley's attorney, Khurrum Wahid, released a statement calling the posts a political discussion "all parties had mutually engaged in over the course of weeks."
Manley told WLRN it was a "serious first amendment issue" – and then made a comparison that tells you everything you need to know.
"The President of the United States says worse," Manley said.

A man who typed out a beheading threat is now invoking Donald Trump's name to explain himself.
A judge has already prohibited Manley from owning weapons, contacting the victims, or posting on social media as conditions of his release.
The First Amendment does not protect written threats to decapitate political opponents.
Every serious legal scholar agrees on that.
Broward Prosecutors Had to Step Away Entirely
Here's where it gets stranger.
The Broward State Attorney's Office won't prosecute Manley – not because the charges are weak, but because the two alleged victims had previously taken part in charitable drives run by that same office.
That was enough for prosecutors to declare a conflict and ask Governor Ron DeSantis to assign the case to a different state attorney.
Democrat-on-Democrat political violence so tangled that the local Democrat jurisdiction couldn't handle it themselves.
DeSantis will assign a new prosecutor – and with Florida carrying up to 15 years on each felony count, Manley's social media career may have cost him far more than a congressional primary.
Ro Khanna's Endorsed Candidate Threatened Beheadings Over Senate Loyalty
Manley wasn't some random troll.
He was a Democrat congressional candidate endorsed by California Congressman Ro Khanna.

He ran as the progressive alternative to Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
He campaigned on universal healthcare and a federal jobs guarantee.
This was the Left's preferred candidate in South Florida – and when he lost, he went online and threatened to behead the people he disagreed with.
The same Democrat Party that turned January 6th into a four-year fundraising machine just watched its own endorsed congressional candidate post beheading threats over a Senate loyalty dispute.
No Democrat leader has condemned it.
His attorney is calling it political dialogue.
That's the Democrat Party in 2026: a congressional candidate threatens decapitations, invokes Trump as his defense, and the party looks the other way.
