Ron DeSantis says the Republican Party is unified for 2024
Former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had a meeting to bury the hatchet and discuss the 2024 Election that was brokered by a mutual friend in South Florida.
The Republican Presidential Primary got contentious with Trump jabbing at DeSantis but now that is all water under the bridge according to the Florida Governor.
“I think when you’re in these Primaries, you know, they have a dynamic,” DeSantis said. “I think now we’re in a position where we are unified across issues as Republicans. I think if you look at what’s going on in the state of Florida, you know, we have unprecedented success that we’ve had in this state.”
Trump, who continued to take shots at DeSantis after the Primary, walked away from their meeting praising his former rival.
“I am very happy to have the full and enthusiastic support of Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “We had a great meeting yesterday, arranged by mutual friend Steve Witkoff, at his beautiful Shell Bay Club in Hollywood, Florida. The conversation mostly concerned how we would work closely together to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Also discussed was the future of Florida, which is FANTASTIC! I greatly appreciate Ron’s support in taking back our Country from the Worst President in the History of the United States. November 5th is a BIG DAY!!!”
Trump senior advisor Susie Wiles, who was in DeSantis’ 2018 gubernatorial campaign, told Florida Politics that the Florida Governor is ready to join the fight.
“The meeting was fine, went long, ended with a handshake,” Wiles said. “They discussed the full range of policy issues and politics, too. Ron’s role in the campaign is yet to be determined, but he was clear that he wanted to help in every way he could.”

DeSantis told Fox News host Sean Hannity that he and Trump touched on some personal issues during their conversation.
“A lot of it was just connecting about things,” DeSantis said. “I mean, look: he’s a dad, he’s got a kid going to college. I’m a dad. I’ve got three young kids in the household.”
“He’s concerned about how my wife was doing,” DeSantis continued. “Obviously, she had a cancer scare a couple of years ago. So, it was just a good meeting and a good conversation.”
He also dropped a hint about his political plans for the rest of the year.
DeSantis said his political operation is “going to be active in a variety of capacities throughout the rest of the year to help, you know, not just the top of the ticket, but all around the country.”
Trump is reportedly going to tap into DeSantis’ donor network from his Presidential campaign.
The Florida Governor is another asset the GOP can deploy on the campaign trail this year.
