And Ron DeSantis gave Donald Trump one message about 2024 that has all hell breaking loose.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis held an event to thank top donors and supporters of his Presidential campaign at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
DeSantis gathered with members of his finance committee for his Presidential bid and major campaign donors to also discuss what comes next.
The Florida governor used the event to announce that was going to be playing an active role in the 2024 Election.
Ron DeSantis going to fundraise for Donald Trump
DeSantis told his supporters that he was going to help raise money for former President Donald Trump at the private event.
“I would say the majority in the room would now be willing to help Trump,” a DeSantis fundraiser told NBC News.
With Trump now the Republican nominee, the party is beginning to unite around him ahead of what is expected to be a knock-down, drag-out brawl against President Joe Biden this fall.
Dallas, Texas based businessman Roy Bailey served as the co-chair of DeSantis’ national finance advisory board after having supported Trump in 2020.
Now he is back on board with Trump for the general election and predicted that other top DeSantis donors would join him.
“He’s committed to helping Trump in any and every way,” Bailey said of DeSantis. “We are going to follow his lead, and we’re excited to do everything we can to get Trump elected.”
“If we can unlock and motivate our donors for Trump and put more fuel in his tank, that’s what we want to do, and that’s what we need to do to make sure Biden is not reelected,” Bailey added.
Trump at fundraising disadvantage against Biden
Trump hauled in a record $50 million for a single fundraiser during an event at Mar-a-Lago while the DeSantis retreat was occurring.
But he’s still trailing Biden in the money race for 2024.
Of course, money is not everything in politics.
Trump was outspent by about two to one by Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Election.
The Democrat lawfare campaign against him with four bogus criminal cases is designed to drain his resources with protracted legal battles.
Now with Ron DeSantis and his supporters on board, the Trump campaign can have the money needed to be firing on all cylinders for a long slog until Election Day in November.
