Ron DeSantis hit Congress with one shocking demand that left Ilhan Omar panicking

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis does not pull any punches sparring with the Left.

He took dead aim at one member of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “Squad.”

And Ron DeSantis hit Congress with one shocking demand that left Ilhan Omar panicking.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is dealing with a major controversy after a shocking video of her went viral on social media.

The socialist Congresswoman is an immigrant from Somalia, and she told an audience that she was a “Somalian first, Muslim second” and that she was “here to protect the interests of Somalia from inside the U.S. system.”

Omar made the remarks while speaking to an audience in her native Somali language at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis gathered to celebrate the re-election of a politician in Somalia.

The Minneapolis–Saint Paul area has the largest Somali population in the country.

She made it clear that she was serving in Congress to protect the interests of Somalia in her speech.

“For as long as I am in the U.S. Congress, Somalia will never be in danger, its waters will not be stolen by Ethiopia or others,” Omar told the crowd. “Sleep in comfort, knowing I am here to protect the interests of Somalia from inside the U.S. system.”

“The US government will do what we ask it to do,” Omar added. “We live in this country. We are taxpayers in this country.”

Omar was addressing a dispute between Somalia and Ethiopia over Somaliland, a state in Somalia trying to establish itself as an independent nation.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis reacted to a clip of Omar’s speech on social media by saying she should be stripped of her citizenship and deported.

“Expel from Congress, denaturalize and deport!” DeSantis said.

The 41-year-old Omar was born in Somalia and became an American citizen in 2000.

She has become one of the top lieutenants to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in her “Squad.”

Her comments in the video were a clear violation of the oath of allegiance she took to America when she became a citizen and her oath of office as a Congresswoman.

To become an American citizen, she pledged to renounce any allegiance to a foreign nation.

Omar claimed that the clip that circulated on social media saying she would put Somalia first was mistranslated.

“It’s not only slanted but completely off, but I wouldn’t expect more from these propagandists,” Omar ranted. “I pray for them and for their sanity.”

This is another disturbing incident in the growing list of controversies that have plagued her during her in stint in Congress.
