Ron DeSantis promised to sign one immigration bill that Democrats are going to hate

Ron DeSantis is leading the charge in cracking down on illegal immigration at the state level.

Now he could be ready to take it to the next level.

And Ron DeSantis promised to sign one immigration bill that Democrats are going to hate.

Illegal immigration bill modeled after Texas coming to Florida

President Joe Biden has no interest in enforcing the country’s immigration law.

His administration’s refusal to do its job is forcing Republican-led states to step up.

Texas created a political firestorm over SB4, which was signed into law late last year.

SB4 makes it a crime to cross the Texas-Mexico border illegally and authorizes state law enforcement to return illegal aliens convicted under the law to the border to be deported.

If the illegal alien agrees to return to Mexico, then the criminal charges are dropped against them under the bill.

Historically, enforcing immigration law has been an exclusive power of the federal government, but Texas took aggressive action to protect its border.

SB4 has been blocked while Texas and the Biden administration duke it out in federal court.

Now State Senator Blaise Ingoglia (R-FL) plans on introducing a bill modeled after SB4 in the Florida Legislature next year.

“I think the state of Florida should take up and pass the same law that Texas did,” Ingoglia told The Floridian. “[It allows] Texas officials to basically do the job of the federal government—which they are not doing—in terms of arresting illegal immigrants and then just sending them back over the border. I think it’s a must that the state of Florida does that.”

Ingoglia said that Florida needed to be able to act because the federal government isn’t doing its job.

“I’m in favor of doing everything that we possibly can to continue creating deterrents so that illegal immigrants do not settle in the state of Florida,” Ingoglia remarked.

Ron DeSantis declares his support for new anti-illegal law

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said that he would sign a bill allowing Florida to arrest illegal aliens if it hit his desk during a press conference.

“I support it. They say the federal government is supreme when it comes to immigration, which is fine. . . but we have laws on the books that the federal government isn’t enforcing, and in fact they’re intentionally violating,” DeSantis told reporters. “I would sign it in Florida.”

DeSantis said that states should have the ability to enforce immigration laws.

“All Texas is saying is ‘We want to enforce the federal laws! Biden, you won’t uphold your oath of office—we’ll do it,’. I think states have every right to do that,” DeSantis said.

And he blamed Biden for states that are in this current situation because of his open border agenda.

“I think it’s been a huge, huge disaster, but it’s intentional,” DeSantis explained. “He instituted policies that have created this mess to begin with.”

Ron DeSantis could be getting another tool at his disposal to crack down on illegal immigration in the Sunshine State.
