Ron DeSantis uttered five words to Texas Governor Greg Abbott that Democrats will hate

A battle is brewing between Texas and Joe Biden over the border.

Republican states are standing up to his lawless administration.

And Ron DeSantis uttered three words to Texas Governor Greg Abbott that Democrats will hate.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is defending his state’s sovereignty while the federal government is enabling illegal aliens pouring across the border.

He launched Operation Lone Star to use state resources and personnel to secure Texas’ border after the federal government dismantled any semblance of border security creating the worst border crisis in the nation’s history.

Texas laid razor wire on the border to try and stop the flood of illegal aliens coming into the state, but the Border Patrol, on orders from rogue Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, began removing it.

A legal battle ensued between Texas and the Biden administration that led to the Supreme Court ruling 5-4 that the federal government had the authority to remove the razor wire.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took the side of Abbott in the legal controversy over the razor wire, telling Abbott, “FL will keep assisting Texas.”

“If the Constitution really made states powerless to defend themselves against an invasion, it wouldn’t have been ratified in the first place and Texas would have never joined the union when it did,” DeSantis wrote on X. “TX is upholding the law while Biden is flouting it. FL will keep assisting Texas with personnel and assets.”

DeSantis commented on a post that quoted Abbott explaining that the Founding Fathers gave states the ability to defend themselves from an invasion.

“James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and the other visionaries who wrote the U.S. Constitution foresaw that States should not be left to the mercy of a lawless president who does nothing to stop external threats,” Abbott wrote to explain Texas’ constitutional right to self-defense.

The “invasion clause” in Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution states the federal government “shall guarantee every state in this Union a republican form of government and shall protect each of them against invasion.”

Abbott said that the invasion clause triggered Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution, which gives Texas the constitutional authority to defend itself from an invasion.

“That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary,” Abbott explained. “The Texas National Guard, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and other Texas personnel are acting on that authority, as well as state law, to secure the Texas border.”

DeSantis has been giving Texas a helping hand with securing the state’s border after President Joe Biden refused to do it.

He sent more than a thousand members of the Florida National Guard and law enforcement to participate in Operation Lone Star last year.

Republican states are going to have to lead the charge on securing the southern border.
