A new poll out of Texas shows why Democrats are constantly attacking Ron DeSantis

May 13, 2022

Democrats spent the past two years trying to use Ron DeSantis as a political punching bag.

They attack every move DeSantis makes.

But a new poll out of Texas shows why Democrats are constantly attacking Ron DeSantis.

Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump are the two Republicans who Democrats fear the most.

DeSantis rose to popularity during the pandemic for his pro-freedom policies, followed by his battle against the woke Left and their radical ideology.

DeSantis’ rise to stardom has many speculating on whether or not he plans to run for President in 2024.

Of course, DeSantis maintains his position that he is only focused on getting re-elected to another term as Governor in November.

And Donald Trump maintains his position that he doesn’t believe DeSantis will run if he decides to seek a second term in 2024.

But that hasn’t stopped pollsters from surveying the landscape to see who GOP voters would choose if DeSantis and Trump both decided to run for President.

So far, polls have consistently shown Donald Trump coming in first, with Ron DeSantis coming in second, followed by the rest of the field coming in much lower.

This leaves no doubt that Trump and DeSantis are the favorites among the GOP base nationwide.

And a new CWS Research poll out of Texas just found similar results.

“If the upcoming 2024 Republican Primary for president were held today, and the candidates were Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Ron DeSantis, Greg Abbott, Nikki Haley, and Kristi Noem, for whom would you vote?” the poll asked respondents.

Donald Trump came in first place, with 44%.

Ron DeSantis finished behind Donald Trump, with 28%.

The next highest percentage was “undecided,” which was 8% of respondents.

However, when Donald Trump’s name was removed from the survey, Ron DeSantis catapulted to the top spot among respondents, with 56% choosing the Florida Governor as their choice.

Without Donald Trump’s name, Ted Cruz came in second, with 14%, and Greg Abbott finished third, with 10%.

Of course, this is consistent with several other polls showing Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis as the top two favorites for the Republican nomination in 2024.

A national poll conducted by Echelon Insights showed DeSantis as the top choice among Republican voters for the 2024 nomination if Donald Trump decides not to run for President again.

McLaughlin & Associates conducted a poll in late April that found Ron DeSantis had more than 30% support among respondents if Donald Trump’s name was not included, which was more than runners-up Mike Pence and Donald Trump, Jr. combined.

And an April Harvard/Harris poll also found Ron DeSantis as the top choice among Republicans if Donald Trump decides not to run, with 35% of respondents choosing the Florida Governor.

DeSantis is also surging in the Sunshine State, with several polls showing him beating his potential Democrat opponents by double digits in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup.

DeSantis is rising in the polls, and his approval ratings are also increasing.

Not only that, but DeSantis is setting fundraising records, bringing in more than $115 million so far for his re-election efforts.

The future looks bright for Ron DeSantis.

And this drives the Democrats insane.
